What's on your Menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
Good morning menu crew!
It's cold here this morning, though nowhere near as bitterly cold as it is for some of you...it's a balmy 39 degrees in comparison
The area is preparing for the snowpacolypse - we're preparing by staying home and out of the way today haha. We've got our groceries and snow shovel ready - they are predicting between 5-7 inches for our area which is crazytalk for us. Last time we had that much snow there was chaos and fire and abandoned cars, it was nuts. They brine our roads here, it's quite different than winter preps from up north!
I did well with my menu yesterday until dinner, and boy did I pay for it. I had pizza for dinner and spent the rest of the evening feeling like garbage...heart palpitations, nausea, headache....bleh. Guess what I won't be doing again, oy!
Also I heard from my surgeon's nurse yesterday - we are still waiting on the psych sign-off because the psych wants to touch base with my therapist before doing so...totally understand, and my therapist did mention that she'd gotten a message from the psych, they were playing phone tag. I'm trying to be very zen about it...no point in getting flustered, just keeping focused on my goals and taking it one day at a time!
QOTD: I'm coming up blank on this, although I have to say I really like Daisy's suggestion of some sort of 'stay out of my personal space' law....I have personal space issues, and I definitely do NOT like when people invade it. Especially if people stand off to the my side and stare at what I'm doing.
Menu:
B: Unjury Protein Shake - Fairlife Milk, Coffee w/ff 1/2 and 1/2 and a splash of peppermint mocha creamer
L: Greek Yogurt, Berry Compote
S: Ricotta Egg Bake Muffins, String Cheese
D: Chicken, veggies
PHOTO FRIDAY:
I have three pictures for you guys today!
This one is a legit picture of the street near my husband's work last time we had a serious snowfall here (Feb 2014)...luckily he worked from home that day so we didn't have to worry....but look at this craziness! THIS is why we stay home when they utter the words snow, ice and winter in the same sentence.
I registered my baby for kindergarten yesterday - I managed to not be emotional until we left, seriously...time goes so fast!
This one is my hubby and I on New Years Eve - our friend had these silly coasters you stick to your face - these were the ones we picked. I adore this man, I'm so glad we've spent the last 12 years being silly together.

mmmm pizza, sorry that it did not sit well... that sucks. I hope you stay warm and safe this weekend. Being Canadian and growing up around TONS of snow I can't wrap my head around total chaos over a few inches of snow LOL LOL But please be safe!
Your top pic is scary, man global warming is playing havoc in the Southern States right?
Your son is GORGEOUS, I would have cried too but I hope he is excited to start school!
You and your hubby are so cute! I have never seen those coasters before, I need those! Being silly with your hubby is awesome, I am ALL THE TIME with my hubs, its keeps us young!
have a great weekend!
Thanks, I think he's gorgeous too but I admit I'm biased...he's super excited for school!
I'm originally from the Chicago area....when I first moved here we got 10 inches right after Christmas and upon discovering that my brother-in-law did not own a shovel....I said 'no sweat!' and hopped in my 4x4 and off I went in the snow. Yeah....I don't do that anymore, not because I can't drive in it but because I've learned that most North Carolinians absolutely CAN'T....they still try to travel at normal speeds and you can guess how that goes. It boggles my mind too!
Bonus story - I went to find that shovel at the logical places....you know, Hardware store, Wal-mart, right? They didn't sell them....at all. One guy suggested a garden spade.... I told one associate that the hardware store down the street where I grew up sold them in JULY, hmmph. I finally found one at a gas station, of all places. Sucker cost $30 and I'm keeping it forever.....maybe even taking it to my grave.
We will be staying safe and warm!
