Kidney Stones - No Bueno!
Spent my day off yesterday in excruciating pain from a kidney stone. Finally passed it after 6 hours. From searching on here, it looks like this is fairly common due to lack of fluids (guilty) and increased protein. I have my 6 month check up scheduled with my surgeon for today, so we'll discuss then. Worse than labor times 10!!

The number one cause of kidney stones, by far, is not drinking enough.

Sonja, Sonja, Sonja your words made me winch. Labor pain from two children, watching DH and listening to support group members discuss kidney stone pain, a record-sized gallstone, and the residue-fear from all three has me using lemon juice in a morning Miralax-infused glass of water to ward off experiencing your pain. Since lemon, I have added local unprocessed honey for good measure. Since honey, I have added organic coconut oil for less dry hair. Pretty soon, my water will require a spoon.
This cracked me up! When I first used Miralax, I told a friend that, as I stirred it into the water, it looked like the world's lamest snow globe.

Sorry you went through that! I had them years ago and it was horrid. Here's hoping you never get another one.

Wow that really sucks! Can't stress enough to DRINK YOUR LIQUIDS people! And some days I struggle with this too, especially the days I am having a "big pouch day" and I want to eat all day and not drink all day. Great thing is all liquids count... tea (Hot or Cold), coffee (hot or cold or decaf), protein shakes, soup, diet pop, water with flavourings in it, milk (almond or soy or coconut). Whatever works to get your 8 glasses (minimum) then go for it. I too have days where I struggle so not being preachy just giving some of the newbies ideas to help out.
Hope you feel better soon!
