Please help me
Hi Rhonda, welcome. You are only 2 weeks out, not sure what you are being expected to eat at this point, but it shouldn't be much. Focus on getting your fluids in and protein through drinks at this point...and 'food' should only be one, two or maybe three bites. Don't worry take your time, you will get there. I would spend some time reading through posts, and you can search subjects with the magnifying glass at the top of the page.... Good Luck

Stay on liquid or puree...Very small amounts. If you can't keep those down, call your doctor. You may have a stricture...They usually show up (over 50% of the time) during the third week when the healing between your pouch and small intestine shrinks. But it can happen at ANY TIME. Don't be afraid to call your doctor...They expect the call.
Also know the signs of dehydration...A simple pinch test on your arm may tell you. Pinch the skin on your arm...If it goes back in place in less than a second you are NOT dehydrated. If it's longer (in general...No doctor here) you may be dehydrated. The first few weeks are hard...sip sip sip...very slowly. Chew small amounts to puree stage. If your nose starts to run or you get the hiccups while you are eating...STOP EATING!! Your pouch is full...Do not pass go...Do not collect $200. Brian PS if those two things happen wait 5-10 minutes and proceed SLOWLY. Your pouch rules!! You don't...Sorry, those are the rules...
OMG nose running and hiccuping! Totally my normal now. I always know to stop immediately if either happens. Not one more bite.
Very early... water and protein shakes are most important. Keep at it and do not heditate to call your surgeon for advice. I spoke to nurses often ;).
