What's on Your Sunday (NEW YEAR'S DAY!) Menu, RNYers?
Crockpot beef stew has been the worst yet. I had a miserable two hours after, and chicken thighs in my instant pot did not work out. Only thing that has gone well is very rare steak. Just getting wear of spending evenings with such an upset stomach... I will keep at it though. NOT complaining! I love my progress so far!
9 grams of sugar doesn't seem that bad for yogurt. Probably 6 of them are lactose (from the milk - even plain yogurt has that). I've seen some yogurts that are much higher in sugar, so that one really isn't too bad...
you may be one of those who has to hold off a couple more weeks on the menu progression. It does work eventually...
I would keep trying, but I would suggest trying 1/2-1 ounce at a time. Depending on the protein, I often can't eat much more than 2 ounces either. Pork (chop or loin )for some reason I can always eat 3 oz.

today is a much better day :) no sickness all day! -day 1 of patch vit muti, so happy to be using them now, had to wait until the 'others' were gone to start these.
I stayed up till 2 am and sleep on and off till 2 PM!!! I was soooo lazy!!! Made me some lunch which was curry chicken. For dinner I made brisket in my instant pot, roasted carrots, collards with ham, and roasted cabbage. it was yumm o
I do new years resolutions, it is more about what I want to accomplish versus stuff like, lose 30 pounds, lalala
So on my list this year I have ziplining, kayaking, paddleboard yoga, horseback riding (was on a horse once for 3 minutes), getting as strong and healthy as possible. I also want to try other types of exercise like acqua zumba and water aerobics.
yesterday totals were i think less than 80 over my goal of 780, so not bad and way high on the protein.
Happy 2017 everyone! I ushered in the new year by falling asleep at 9:30 pm. However, I had a blast earlier in the day! Eight of my closest friends and I got together beginning at 11:00 that morning until 5:15pm. The best part of this group of friends is that 6 of us are bari patients and the other 2 are bari support gals to all of us. We all brought bari-friendly sides to compliment the bari-friendly chili that the hostess prepared for us. We spent the afternoon playing various games (the most fun game was Heads Up), gabbing, and laughing.
QOTD...my resolution for 2017? Exercise! I actually got a head start on my 2017 resolution last Thursday (12/29). I have joined the YMCA and plan on exercising M-F. I would have been exercising before now, if I was able, but with the cancer treatments I had to endure since last March, I just did not have the energy. Now that all the hard treatments are over, my energy is restored and my doctors just released me to return to the swimming pool. Mondays/Wednesdays are Aqua Zumba, Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays are cardio days. I'm excited!
Breakfast: 1 scrambled egg with 1 strip of center cut bacon
Lunch: 2oz cashews (okayed by my RDs)
Dinner: 2oz baked pork loin, 2oz saurkraut, 2oz sweet & sour cole slaw (made with Stevia), 1oz unsweetened applesauce
Snack: Premier Protein RTD

I'll just share something I make and eat over a 4-6 day period I will take some pain Greek yogurt and mix in the same amount of one of those individual fruit flavor yogurts. Yeah, I know about the bad high fructose corn syrup. I will then add whatever fresh fruit is around the house. Tonight it was grapes, strawberries, bananas. Other times I'll add fresh blue berries, fruits from my garden and trees/vines; grapes, peaches, nectarines, cherries, strawberries. It's cool to live in California...I go outside and grab citrus anytime I want.
But that Greek yogurt you should try...Maybe with just whatever fresh fruit is hanging around...Ready to go bad. Good eats!! Brian
