What's on Your Sunday (NEW YEAR'S DAY!) Menu, RNYers?

IKEA! Yes! One of the best parts about moving in with Grim (you know, besides the obvious) is that he lives about 5 minutes from an IKEA. We have date nights there to walk around and get hotdogs for dinner (the romance is alive!). The Swedish meatballs are amazing, too! You can get frozen ones in the grocery section after checking out.

5 minutes from IKEA and a supply of swedish meatballs???? I say who ever planned IKEA is brilliant...they have that crazy maze floorplan they make you walk through if you really want to browse...and just when you think you've had enough...there is the cafe with coffee and swedish meatballs....cheap too....and then You get refreshed enough to finish...

Good morning JB and gang, and Happy New Year...
QOTD: Never. Nuff said.
B; Premier Protein Caramel with coffee, poached egg, 1/2 english muffin with cheddar
L: Siggi orange ginger nf yogurt (love!)
D: salad w/pomegranate blueberry dressing, cottage cheese
S: Syntrax grape
Visiting Orcas for the holiday, did not bring my food. I usually eat the Dannon L&F greek but this store does not carry it. They had Siggi's... 17 grams protein and very rich! Love it... but 9g sugar. Anyone else use this?
Still having a ***** of a time with dense protein. Yesterday was lovely all day with yogurt, protein shake, cottage cheese and then I had two ounces of yellowtail fish, followed by two hours of extreme discomfort. Wondering if it is worth it to keep pushing animal/fish proteins on my pouch...
Rib eye rare works okay but I keep thinking if I can just expand my choices. Don't care for an all beef lifestyle. And I fl so good when I stick to dairy and vegetables, and peotein powder to fill in. Protein numbers had ge (over 100 yesterday) but as soon as I eat fish or mest I feel crappy. My NUT expressed some concern that I am continuing to stick to a soft or liquid diet. It just sucks to feel crappy after eating. But boy do I love my new clothes ;) so not complaining.
I don't know if you do ham, but deli ham was a big staple for me after surgery. Very moist, and I tolerated it very well. And deli chicken was easier than a home cooked chicken.

I haven't tried the Siggi's but when I just recently had my first nutrition visit and asked what yogurts they suggested, that was one of the first ones they mentioned and gave me a coupon for. They don't carry it at my local grocery store (I travel an hour to my bariatric clinic) so I am going to have to look for it.

While you should keep trying... small pieces, chew well and make sure it is moist and eat slow..... things can be iffy with some foods during the first 6 months. Suddenly at 6 months it seemed to settle down. Have you tried using your crockpot to make things really moist? and use the boneless chicken thighs over breasts. Beef was always easy for me from the beginning... Don't worry but keep at it, the further out you get all those liquid and soft foods won't be as satisfying...
