heading out to a New Year's brunch at a friend's house soon.  She hosts them every year and it's usually the same crowd - and they're fun people.  She usually has a bunch of snacky foods, a dessert or two - and a main course that's usually an egg strata, but last year she also had a Texas-style chili.  I hope she has the chili again.  It was fabulous and also bariatric-friendly.  The egg strata not so much (bread..), but I'll eat a little of that in the absence of a bariatric-friendly option.   It's a much better choice than snacks or desserts.  But we'll see what she's got for us this year...

QOTD:  I haven't done a New Year's resolution for a long time because they never last, but now that I'm at my goal weight and want to maintain it, I want to be more consistent with my exercise.

B:  pumpkin Greek yogurt with 2 T oats (soaked overnight), 1 T Kashi Crunch granola

S:  double SF protein mocha latte

L:   not sure (at the brunch)

D:  if I'm heavy on calories (because of the brunch), then two turkey meatballs.  If I'm OK, then probably a small piece of leftover bariatric-friendly lasagna or a cup of leftover beef/prune stew

maybe a L&F Greek yogurt for an evening snack if I have enough calories left over...

Happy New Year friends!

QOTD: No, No resolutions- but thinking about the New Year I pray for a word for the year- something to stir my spirit for that year.

This year 2017- The Best is yet to come! No fear

True Confession - because I am here to be real.... Christmas to New years is my Kryptonite....and I have fallen in the hole. Don't feel out of control, but the scale says differently... while I can have some carbs obviously not the ones on the Table while my son and family are here + holidays. Since Wednesday I am up 6lbs. Yes 6lbs. I am swollen today, and up 2lbs from yesterday....and I know I can't wait for them to leave to get back on track. I know part of it is fluids are way down- ie. swelling....

B: Coffee w/Miralax/Fairlife Milk  Fuzzy Navel Smoothie

L: Beef stew minus potatoes, -- Food after Church today

D: Meatball Parm., Spinach

Snacks: eggs, Babybel, Chocolate chai latte

Lots of fluids!!

I'm sure fluids are 90% of it, C! You know you didn't gain 2lbs of fat overnight! I'm sure that you'll be back to happy in a day or two :)

I know....just talking sense into myself out loud.... I am just really sensitive to certain carbs.... some things I can do and the scale is OK and then there is the hole.... drinking lemon cranberry water as I write this :)

Morning and happy new year pouch pals!! I've been on my run and made breakfast. Last night I had a sparkling cider toast of the new year with the boys- then we went to sleep. My appetizer evening was a disappointment-I didn't like what I bought (crab stuffed mushrooms and goat cheese balls). I ended making cream of wheat for dinner. I didn't eat  anything on my menu yesterday. My calories were low but carbs were higher than I like. I have no plans today and will love every minute of it!

Qotd: I love your interpretation of everyday being a new opportunity. My resolutions are usually things I've been mulling over in my head that I put some finality to. I'm going to work towards 5 miles runs, increase fluid intake and better organize some stuff financially. I actually already started on these things-- so just gotta keep it moving.

195.4 today, 20 months out. I took measurements today- definitely made progress with inches despite the bouncy bounce the scale has been doing. Bought a fitted size 10 blouse and it looks amazing on.

M1: 1 scrambled egg. 3oz ham 1 Belgian waffle square

m2: yogurt or lunch meat/cheese roll up

m3: beef stew

m4:?? Not sure- don't need it so may skip it. In fiull disclosure I bought some lemon danishes yesterday- Hoping hubby will eat some, I'm going to try not to.

Happy New Year everyone!!

We were out much too late last night at a friends house party, made even later by the hour drive we had to get home. They live near Niagara Falls where there is a big New Years Eve event and I could not believe the traffic at 3 am, completely insane. Today we have dinner at my moms house. In our family we always have the first dinner of the New Year as a family and over the years it has come to include a few friends as well. It's a tradition that was started by my favourite aunt who used to make these elaborate meals and include several "new" things to try; kangaroo, shark, frog legs, ostrich etc. Since she moved out west my mom has been hosting so now it's potluck and far less adventurous but always fun. The friends that attend have 3 little kids between them and it's always a blast to have that energy in the house.

I have never been one for making resolutions, probably because I don't see them being all that influential in my decision making. I do have goals for this year but that has more to do with were I am in my weight loss journey than the date on the calendar. I feel like I have a decent handle on the food side of things but there is plenty of room for improvement with my water intake, vitamin schedule and activity level. I'm meeting my fluid requirements and getting my vitamins in but I need to increase my fluids (the minimum isn't enough) and establish a more consistent vitamin schedule. The biggest change I need to make is moving more. A lot more. I was doing really well at this pre op but post op with the restrictions on exercise followed by crappy weather and the holidays I've gotten into a sedentary rut. Last week on the 'BMI over 50' forum I posted that I would start including my exercise with my weekly weigh in and this weeks report is going to be quite sad indeed.

B - premier protein

L - turkey and laughing cow wedge

D - chicken (possibly some roasted cauliflower or soup, we'll see what I feel like at the time)

S - berry protein

Totals (without anything in brackets) 470 cal, 91g protein, 5g carbs

Have a great day everyone and I wish you all a happy and healthy 2017!!

Good morning everyone! Last night was really nice. We had family over and I made dinner and we played board games after. I used  yesterdays QOTD and everyone went around the dining room table and talked about their high/low for the year.

As far as resolutions for this year, I want to just be the best me that I can be. My kids are older and grown. I am looking forward to spending more time with my husband and traveling. I am looking forward to being at goal next year at this time too!

B- 1 egg scrambled with onion, green pepper and black forest ham

L- Turkey and swiss

D- more turkey

snack- maybe a light and fit greek yogurt, depending on my protein numbers.

Happy New Year!! Yesterday was nice as I always enjoy spending time with my sister and family. We watched McFarland, USA with them as they had never seen it and it's one of our favorites but was in bed right after 9p.

De****d to take a drive this morning and guess where we are going...IKEA for the first time!! Not even sure what to expect.

QOTD: Not resolutions but I do want to set some goals for this year.

Menu: B: latte, oatfit, turkey sausage links and an orange L: TBD (depending on timing maybe Swedish meatballs at IKEA?) S: latte and I have my yogurt and a pack of Buddig meat packed D: TBD as we will probably grab something on the way home.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Have fun at IKEA. I've never been there either but St Louis did finally get one 3 or so months ago. Maybe one of these days.
