Good Morning! Back to work tomorrow so I am hoping to have a day filled with nothing but hanging around the house today. Doubtful, but hey a girl can hope.

QOTD: New Years use to be a huge deal in our family when we were younger! We through a huge family party and everyone came and brought their little ones with them. As the kids grew and family expanded the party's stopped. It's sad! Members moved further away and as kids married off they did not stay as close to cousins as they once were. So now, New Years tends to just be another night around our house. I would love to start an new tradition with just my husband and I to carry on in our older age, but not sure it will happen.

B: coffee

L: western omelette

D: BBQ chicken

Another quick post from me. I missed yesterday, so I will try to catch up on everything tonight! Busy days visiting friends and family and seeing Rogue one this morning.

Eating has been good, I'm tracking everything, and it's mostly protein, but I did have an ounce of wine yesterday with dinner. It was special wine my sister in law brought from her friends vineyard in Germany, and it's my favourite. No regrets. But just need to post it, and reminder that it was a one time thing!

also did some snowshoeing yesterday, which was fun.

Menu:

B: protein shake

L/D: no idea. The only visit I'm worried about this whole trip is this afternoon. We're going to friends of the family, and she is an amazing host. So I know she will have a mound of home Made appies and puts a lot of effort into it. I'm not worried about temptation, but just making sure I don't hurt her feelings ( I don't feel this way about anyone else, just her. She's 80 ish and entertains like it's a vocation). But I just found out there's like 8 of us going, and not just my husband and I, so that will make it less obvious I'm not eating much.

Have a great day everyone!

you can always ask her for a "things to go" ..so you can have it later.... then later give that to your family - but don't forget to eitehr call her or sent a note how wonderful everything was..

Good morning guys!

I woke up cranky this morning - totally one of those 'on the wrong side of the bed' mornings   It's rainy and gross outside, today is my hubby's colonoscopy so we're leaving shortly so I can take him to that.  I'm bringing my tablet so I can browse the forums and read while I wait

QOTD: Typically we don't do anything on new years - we usually would make finger-foods and play video games/watch movies while we stay in.  This year, however, we are actually going to a party.  We've made some new friends via my hubby's work and they are definitely our people...geeky types who love a lot of the same things we do.  We're going to play board games and hang out.  It's outside my comfort zone a bit because I'm definitely an introvert who prefers to stay in....but I think we'll have fun.

Menu:

B: Unjury Chocolate Splendor Shake w/Fairlife Milk, Coffee

S: Protein Bar

L: Egg Muffins

S: TBD

D: TBD - I have some leftover chicken w/veggie soup so maybe I'll have that

DR: Water Water Water, and Tea

Here's the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1/2 c green beansD 31/2 oz leg of lamb 1/2 c cauliflower S P3 Pak. pickled herring?  We eat that up in Wisconsin, too (well, I don't....).  Your husband must be of Scandinavian descent...

No Scandinavian descent just a family tradition. His favorite grandma and grandpa used to always have it for good luck for the new year and he spent lots of time with them.

Good morning fam!

Its raining here today.

I sent my counter offer email last night. Now its just a wait and see sort of thing. I have mixed feelings, but I do realize they're worth considering if they say yes to everything I inquired about, including salary. However, there are two other possible jobs I'm waiting to hear back from that I'm more excited about, and another interview next week that I'm entertaining as well. We'll just have to see!

QOTD: It depends on the year for New Years. Previous years ive attended parties, and other years I've hosted and cooked huge dinners and had people over. Last year however, no one came because everyone was busy, so we went to bed early. We didnt mind because we have a little one that needs to get to bed early anyway. I think it might be the same again this year. I know, boring. It may change again later, as I said, since every year for me is different.
