Hi there everyone! Home all this week, and don't have to be back at wor****il Tuesday. Score for me! Bad part of that is not being in my routine. I'm recovering from 'too many tastes' over the Christmas holiday, and happy to report that my weight has stayed steady through all those tastes... 162.0 this morning.
Looking forward to New Years making it's debut, and getting back on my schedule. Water drinking is the hardest for me when I'm not at work... just seems that I can't sip, sip, sip like I do when I sit, sit, sit at work. LOL
QOTD: I've pretty much used the old 'lose weight' for years now... used to also do 'quit smoking'... I like the idea of a 'bucket list'. It's more of a positive outlook, instead of giving something up, or 'losing' something, you DO things! I'm going to think about that for the next couple of days!
Hope everyone is doing well! I've missed reading several days now, so if I find the time I will try to read so I can see what I missed! Hugs!
B: No idea... I'm still sipping coffee and it's 10am - see what I mean about a schedule??
L: Um... Yeah, see above
D: Dang...
I CAN tell you that there is ham, deer roast (that I actually like), sausage, ground turkey, cheeses of all kinds, and other protein forward things... I see it being a 'grab a few bites' of something.... right now, I'm not hungry.

Good morning friends. Today two of the kiddos finally come home. I am really looking forward to seeing them. New Years Eve is also my son's birthday so a third kiddo is coming home Saturday and staying the night. Friday we drive up to pick up one more kiddo, my step who lives with their mom, so by Saturday morning I will have four of the five all in one place where I can kiss their cheeks! I am really glad for that.
Instapot adventures continued last night. On the SUCCESS side... The yogurt came out yummy and delicious. I made WAY too much. Apparently a whole gallon of milk is too much for a batch when I am the only one in my family who likes yogurt. I will just eat on it until it needs to get tossed and then make a 1/2 gallon version. Also...I need to buy a strainer because I think I would like it better strained. I am used to the consistency of Greek yogurt so it will be even better next time. Now on the FAIL side, I tried to make an orange marmalade to use as a topping for the yogurt and didn't actually make anything except the kitchen smell good. It was fun but it came out tasting like super sweet floor cleaner. I was starting to really beat myself up about wasting the oranges and time and making a mess all for nothing but My Guy was awesome and said, "I'm proud of you for trying something new. It is only oranges, we can get more." So...I didn't fret like I typically would over the flop. And the kitchen did smell amazing!
QOTD: I tend to be more like Karen where each day I try to find my best and brightest path. Annual review of where I have been and where I want to go is a New Years thing I do though. This year's review is honestly looking pretty good. I am feeling proud of all the hard work I've done for my weight and health. The new year I think will be focused on whatever I can do for my heart, including quitting smoking hopefully, and working on managing our finances better.
Menu: B: Fresh homemade yogurt with 1/2 cup Cheerios (couldn't find any other mix in type stuff); L: Homemade yogurt with 1/2 cup grapes; D: Brisket and mashed potatoes; S: More yogurt??
Accountability: Weighed 122.4 this morning, all is well there. I know that I set 125 as my low end number but I can't seem to wish myself to gain a couple pounds. At least I am not feeling like a failure because it isn't going down. Quitting smoking is still not going well. I think I will need to look at it like I do my food stuff...one failed day isn't a choice to stop trying...it is just a failed day.
All the best,
~E

It's so hard to quit smoking...
I did it about 5 years ago using the patch, and stopped (mostly, except for an occasional one I'd bum off of someone). Then about 2 years ago, that bumming one turned into me buying packs, and smoking 'undercover'... which didn't go well with 3 non smokers at home (no amount of gum, lotion, febreeze, and perfume could cover it from those sneaky noses!)... so I started vaping... it took a while to completely stop the cigarettes, but eventually I came to like the taste (and non-smell) of the vape over the cigarettes.
Once I had surgery, I had another backslide... I felt like I had lost all of my vices... I was still vaping, but with zero nicotine, no alcohol, no food (that I wanted at that particular time)... and I rebelled. I kind of started smoking again, but honestly, I had learned to love my vape better. So I went back to 6mg of nicotine. I seem to have found a compromise in my mind.
But I do occasionally still have that cigarette...

Good morning. It's a very quiet week at my office. About half of us are out and the rest are coming and going at odd times. It's very lax this week.
QOTD: my resolutions always used to be about weight loss. They still are to a certain extent. My resolutions (or goals) are to be the best me I possibly can and to work on the things that need help. So, my resolution is to not slack off on my eating or exercise. To forgive myself if I do, and to get right back on track. I'm also working on a better body image and to be more accepting of myself in my current incarnation. Oh, and decluttering would always be good!
My plan:
B: leftover NY strip roast (3.8 oz)
L: Leftover lemon chicken and hummus from lunch yesterday (about 2.5 oz of chicken, some greek salad and hummus)
D: Turkey breast and broccoli
S: skinny latte, somersaults, carbmaster yogurt and almonds after the gym
Totals: Cal: 972; Protein: 106g; Fat: 36g; Carbs: 59g
The only resolution I ever made was in 2013 Jan.1 that year I vowed to quit smoking and I finally did it! Hardest thing I have ever done, but am so glad I did, but I am with Deanna, if I smoked one today I would be a smoker again. I never really think about having a cig. but I know if I let myself have one it would be all over!

Hi Folks!
QOTD: I was thinking about this. Yes I've made resolutions in the past- don't ask me what they were or if I kept them :-) And I will follow suit this year. The #1 thing I'm resolving to conquer if my "after work grazing habit." That time span between getting home and dinner I can scarf down a whole bunch of calories. I'm limiting myself to 4 food options to have after work: cheese/cashews, peanut better, sugar free jello/pudding, or dry cereal. My goal here is for not to be bariatric friendly; but they are better evils than the crap I'm grazing on now. My #2 & #3 I already started: #2: drink an additional 8oz daily; #3 separate bill $ from spending $. I kept dipping into my bill $ by having my debit card tied to my bill paying account-- so I opened a separate account.
Today I'm 20 months out! 195 today- out of my comfort zone; so time to buckle down again. I've had steady gains since Merry Carbmas- but I think its plateaued now and will begin to reverse.
M1: 1 scrambled egg, 2.5 oz ham
M2: Greek yogurt, berries, granola
M3: Ham, roast beef, collared green & yams
M4: Chicken, collared greens
5'6.5" High weight:337 Lowest weight:193/31 BMI: Goal: 195-205/31-32 BMI
QOTD: I've never really made a New Years resolution however I've made them at other times of the year, like deciding to get healthy by having surgery and and taking care of myself better.

QOTD - I've always New Years Resolutions to lose the weight...this year it will actually come true!! More than that, my resolution is to live an active lifestyle. As the weight comes off it will be easier, but even right now, when it isn't so easy -to be actively finding ways to take more steps, more walks, more treadmill and in January I will be getting back to hiking and will be joining the gym. In the spring maybe a bike? Starting slow, but building up to be healthy and active!!
B- L&F yogurt - cherry
L- went out to lunch, my first meal out since surgery. I got a salad and ate a couple bites of steak and blue cheese YUM!
D- Leftover steak and blue cheese from lunch
V- Doing the best I can on vitamins, the multi and B12 are no problem. However, I cannot swallow the calcium pills. Even the petites are to big and make me gag. I have such an aversion to them now even if I split them I can't do it. I just ordered BA calcium chews, can't wait.
I miss salad and fresh veggies. How long before I can have these? I'm about 5 1/2 weeks out.
