Today is my first day back to work and I'm seriously unprepared so it will be a Greek yogurt for breakfast and lunch is up in the air. I think chilli or pulled pork for supper. Lots of leftovers at our house.

QOTD: New Year's Resolutions- do you make them? Are you making any this year? I have 3 things I struggle with that always make it on my list. Weightloss is 1. With surgery coming up, I'm excited that this will be the year I lose the weight and keep it off. Hopefully I can make progress on the other 2 as well- a clutter free house- we have made a lot of progress here, and doing better with personal finances but my goal this year will be to stick to a budget. 1 new goal this year will be to take out kids on a vacation - we are hoping to do a cruise  Our oldest is graduating from high school this year so we want to make sure we do this. We usually visit family which is great too but it will be awesome to go on a vacation.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning!

This week has me all discombobulated because we're not on our normal schedule.  Both my hubby and the kiddo are home and while I adore having them here, it's also hard to get any of my normal routine stuff done!  I want to do some meal prep today, and I desperately need to clean for my own sanity.  I probably will start organizing and putting away christmas stuff too....we have a lot so it will take me a few days!

QOTD: New Years Resolutions - I've never really been one to make them, probably because I always feel like I'm just setting myself up for more failure and disappointment.  That's totally therapy fodder right there, and definitely something I talk to my therapist about regularly.  Anyways - with this year I'd like to make exercise more of a part of my routine-day-to-day-life, and also do better with personal finances .  I would like, after surgery and healing, to go back to work....once my son goes to school full-time, but we'll see how that plays out as it's months away :)

S: Hardboiled Eggs

I like that! I don't know if you guys read the story from Dec 27th on OH front page. Skotti is from Ontario and posts on the Ontario forum from time to time. He mentions going to an amusement park and then having to do the walk of shame from not fitting in th trial seat at the front of the ride. I'm pretty sure it's the same amusement park that I've been to, and I've done that same walk of shame.  My goal this summer is to go back and ride all the rides that I want to. So that's one thing for a 2017 bucket list.  Not sure what else I will put on it. Thanks for the idea.

Good Morning! QOTD: New Years Resolutions, yes I typically make them. And yes I typically don't keep them. But last year I made 3 and wrote them down. I didn't stick to them 100% but I do have to say I did much better than prior years. So think for this year I will try the same thing. Pick 3 and write them down. Don't beat myself up over not sticking to them 100% of the time but just try to spend the year working on each of them! Now to pick 3. haha

B: coffee

L: swiss burger with sauteed mushrooms

D: meat loaf

QOTD: I don't usually make resolutions per se, though I am a goal oriented person.  So a couple of my goals for 2017 are to continue with maintenance and to save/prepare for retiring at the end of the year (really just after the 1st of 2018 but with vacation time I will be done before the end of the year).

B: eggbeater, cottage cheese, roasted peppers/chilis

L: tuna, pickles, cottage cheese

D: Short-ribs and root vegetables (chef son cooking for friends coming to visit)

S: Nut Thins and hummus, cheese?

Have a great Wednesday!

QOTD I typically don't make them but just strive to do my best each day to make the world a better place. I do have a bucket list though to see all the national parks in the US--at least the ones I can drive to. Checked off 23 last year and hope to do twice that this year. I really wish we had traveled and seen more when our kids were young but we didn't have the money. The youngest did get to see a bunch in Georgia though with us when we went down there last month. He had a Blast! Chilly day here in Illinois but Lily and I already have our 3.2 miles in. Post op 4 years 4 months and weight at 118. Here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 31/2 oz shrimp D 31/2 oz shrimp 1/2 c broccoli S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar.  Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

So the good news and bad news for yesterday- Good News - I got 6 hours with my 3 year old grandson without parental supervision... so we could do what we wanted (without a parental- NO!)... Bad news is the other 3 were in the ER because they couldn't get their insurance to just pay for an out of state walk in clinic... Dad- respitory and eye infection 3 yr old had last week, baby- ear infection, and Dear DIL broken rib from doing gymnastics in car with carseat and baby... the 'line' they have to call because of their insurance thought it was her gall bladder because she just had a baby.... unfortunately teh ER Doc when he touched the spot she said was hurting- they both heard a crack- so he accidently must have shifted the break, and now the pain is 10x worse than when she went in.....

QOTD: I don't do resolutions, although there were always many pie-in-the-sky wishes anytime of year for weight loss over the years. In the beginning of the year (Not necessarily January 1st) I always pray for a word.... something that I stirs my soul and I can meditate on for the year. 2015 was Transformation- the year I lost the weight, 2016 was Restoration, - turned out to be my year of Plastic Surgery where I say my body was being restored to the body I was always ment to have that the tragedies of life stole from me... and in all my rides back and forth from DC- hours and hours and of contemplation, I got my word early for 2017- in July, because it was so big I needed that much time.

2017- The Best is Yet to Come- which I translate to "No Fear!" Lots of changes in 2017, son and family moving to India, and I need to find a full time job.... No fear!

I actually have no idea about food....but here's a go at it...

B: Coffee Latte with fairlife and miralax, cottage cheese

L: Tuna, 1 slice WW toast

D: Chicken TBD

Snacks: Cholate Chai latte, Syntrax fuzzy navel 'orange julius', greek yogurt, strawberries
