I eventually caved and brought out my Nalgene bottle. I would like to appear more adulty, but for whatever reason, I can get so much more water in that way. Not very classy, but effective!

Morning folks! I'm still laying in bed- I realized how I never get to do this...I'm usually up early either going to work, going to run or to the gym. I'm off today and MOndays are not an exercise day- so I'm enjoying doing nothing. I had planned on hitting up after Christmas sales early, but I truly don't need anything. We're going to the movies later so I'll stop in old navy since we'll be close. We didn't even stop at the in laws yesterday (yes!). We may today...

Qotd: Merrry Carbmas was a carb filled success. I didn't go hog wild- but my carbs easily were over 100g on both Xmas eve and xmas. A bagel, Cupcakes, pie and ice cream were my indulgences. And I didn't weigh/measure my dinner. Last night I went to bed knowing Carbmas was over- back to the norm today.

194.1 today, 19 months out

m1: 3oz ham, fried egg, cheese

m2: Greek yogurt, berries, granola

m3: roast beef 3oz, yams, collared greens

m4: ?? Maybe popcorn... going to the movies today

Good morning guys!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday.  My son woke us up at 5:30am  so it was a very long day....but a very enjoyable one! Watching his joy and excitement was the best part of the holiday for me!  My darling husband spoiled me this year and got me a bunch of bariatric friendly cookbooks and kitchen gadgets.  I am SO thankful for his support and I tell him so, often!   On our way to his brother's house yesterday we discussed what post-surgery eating will be like for me, the things I will need to have etc.  My mother-in-law is going to be helping while I'm recovering and she wants to make sure she knows what she can make vs. what she can't.  This is dialogue I never had with my first surgery and I'm keen to make sure it's not a repeat.

QOTD: It's funny - I didn't worry too much about food yesterday, I ate what I wanted but I noticed that I ate considerably less than I used to eat at holidays.  I ate until I was full and didn't go beyond that....that's huge for me.  In the past I would load my plate up and go back for seconds, eating until I was uncomfortably stuffed.  I've spent the last couple years really working on my relationship with food (yay therapy!) and it's made a significant impact...something that will be tremendously helpful post-surgery.

Menu

B: Homemade greek yogurt (I was going to put protein granola on it too but darned if I can find where I put the bag), coffee

S: hardboiled eggs

L: Leftover Ham, random veggie

S: TBD

D: TBD, veggie lasagna if I'm motivated enough to make it today!

Have a great day guys!

Yes, I've also change how I eat. I didn't have seconds yesterday or today and made sure I didn't eat too much in between.

It's another gloomy day here in Illinois but Lily and I got up and got our 3.2 miles in already. No rain today either so that was good. QOTD fairly good eating but I did eat 1 Kings Hawaiian roll Saturday and cornbread yesterday that I normally don't eat. Also ham Saturday and ham and beans for two meals yesterday. Probably did not drink enough either so that is the goal for today. Because of the above weight is up a bit today--118.2-- but I won't beat myself up. Most of it is way too much salt. Post op 4  years 4 months and here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1/2 c green beans D 31/2  oz ribeye 1/2 c cauliflower S P3 Pak. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

I splurged a bit the last two days, but as Peachpie says, I didn't go hog wild (I lived in the South for a few years - loved this expression!).  I logged everything and had just over 1400 kcal both days.  I normally have 1200.  I didn't "carb out" too badly - I did have one Pfeffernusse cookie each day and a half cup of ice cream each day - but that was it (at least for bad carbs).  I stayed mostly protein-forward and ate small portions of healthy food (turkey meatballs, raw veggies & hummus, low-carb lasagna).  Back to 1200 calories starting today, though.  I'd really like to try to eek out 10 more lbs so I have some bounceback room.

19 months out:

B:  Chobani Simply 100 vanilla yogurt, NSA blueberry/blackberry sauce, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola

S:  coffee with half & half, SF protein mocha latte

L:  carrot/chia/coconut soup, some kind of protein (yogurt?  tuna?)

D:  small piece of low-carb lasagna (zucchini instead of noodles)

maybe another Greek yogurt or raw veggies & hummus if I can work in the calories

How did the zucchini noodles work out for the lasagna? I'm thinking of trying that with my moms sauce recipe.
