Giid morning everyone. It's Boxing Day here so big shopping day but I won't be shopping. My family is coming over for our Christmas with them. I'm cooking pancakes for breakfast and prime rib for a late lunch.

QOTD- how did the eating go? I'm not trying. I will be honest. I'm not forging myself but I've been eating what I want. Opti starts next Thursday so I figured I would enjoy this holiday. I did not go back for seconds though and only 1 piece of dessert. I did have some chocolates and a couple of shortbreads.

Good Morning! One more day of work then I finally get a day off :)

QOTD: Had a couple of chocolate snacks. More out of emotional eating than anything else which is probably worse. But they didn't taste as good as I was hoping so glad about that. Now one more small party tonight after work and holiday temptations and stress should be gone!

B: coffee

L: chicken salad

D: Michigan salad with turkey

I need to make some Michigan salad again when we get through all these lasagna leftovers!  I already have some chicken in my freezer - plus dried cherries, pecans, and some cherry vinaigrette - don't need to get too much more!  Love those salads!

they call them that because they're popular in certain parts of Michigan.   They usually have lettuce, chicken, dried cherries, sometimes a diced fresh fruit, either feta or blue cheese, and either toasted walnuts or toasted pecans.  They're usually topped with a cherry vinaigrette.  We were in Michigan last summer at a family wedding and my mom and i would order (and split) one every chance we got.   I made them at home a lot after that - well, mostly in the summer.  I tried to make them more bariatric-friendly and lower calorie by just using a few dried cherries and leaving off the cheese.  They're pretty addictive.  In the summer I put fresh peaches on them, too - and I made them a couple of times in the fall and used apples.  There are recipes for them on the internet, but they're all the same basic idea.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for starting us out, Daizymom.  I hope everyone had a nice Christmas yesterday (those who celebrate Christmas).  We had a very nice time with family.

QOTD:  Yesterday I had my usual breakfast and then we went to family's and had chili at 3 pm, which was delicious.  I had one small cinnamon roll.  Hey, it was Christmas!    Later in the evening I had some soup and for my bedtime snack I had a protein bar.  So I did pretty well except for the cinnamon roll.  I counted in the calories on myfitnesspal.com and I didn't go TOO high, so I'm not going to beat myself up.  One of the kids handed me a Reeses peanut butter cup, (which I LOVE) and I didn't eat it.  I left it sitting on the table and it disappeared.  (Whew!)

B:  crepe w/ peaches & cream cheese

L:  chicken & wild rice soup

D:  lettuce & spinach salad w/ bacon, cheese, low cal dressing

S:  Light n fit Greek yogurt

S:  Mr. Cheese O's or Moon cheese

Exercise:  Walking the dog or exercise bike.

Have a great day everyone!

I'm hoping to have lots of dog-walking exercise post-surgery (well after I'm healed up mind you!)....we're on a waitlist for a puppy sometime late spring/summer.

Also...I don't know what happened but in the last year I've stopped liking reeses cups.  I used to love them....and now I don't even like them, I'd question it but it's better that I don't like em

Morning!

Another drive by post from me!

qotd: not bad actually. Mostly protein only with about a tablespoon of stuffing. But a lot higher sodium than I'd like. And struggling with fluids more than anything. Which I think is going to be reflected on the scale tomorrow.

B: turkey leftovers

L protein shake

D: tbd probably turkey...

take care everyone!

I was wondering if I was the only one struggling with getting my liquids in over the holidays.
