What's on your menu today (Friday) RNYers?
Hi menu gang,
Ive been back from my trip a few days, i was tired and we had Christmas on Wednesday with my family because that was the only time we could get together.
I had fun and enjoy the warm weather. It was 80 on Sunday. We did alot of walking that day.
QOTD only presents i gave this year is a photo of me.
B egg whites with spinach, colored pepper, ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L lunch meat and cheese and baby carrots
D ham and corn
S greek yogurt and turkey sausage snack sticks
Have a great day
Good morning! Almost that time!
QOTD: Oh how I love shopping! Love, love, love. I am certain that the emotions that went into food are now being funneled into shopping, but whatever. I bough my mother a cream whipper for christmas, bright red. So excited. It is totally extravagant. And my daughter did not have any big items on her list so I bought... everything. Socks, earrings, cute umbrellas, slippers, jewelry, books. And I love stockings so I have lots for those too.
B: Fairlife with coffee, Premier Protein chocolate
L: greek yogurt
D: chicken salad, broccoli
S: babybel, Syntrax fuzzy navel
I made almond flour cookies yesterday to give as a gift so I would not be tempted by empty calories. Guess what, almond flour cookies not so bad. They have 1.6 grams of protein for 60 calories, which sucks but I managed to talk myself into them being a good choice and 4 cookies later remembered the appropriate ratio. At least they are leaving today. Aaack, I need to get to Monday!
Cream whipper: something that uses aerosol chargers to whip cream... you put the whipping cream in and then it pumps it out just like one of those spray cans. But healthier, I hope.
QOTD: It is difficult buying for everyone as my husband doesn't ask for anything and my kids are old enough that they just want money. However I did get my husband a Norelco shaver - he used to say he'd never use one but now that he is retired he doesn't like using the razor (but also doesn't want a beard). So we will see what he thinks! We have been giving my stepdaughter jewelry for years (in her mid-forties), but lately we have spent more time with her so I think we have a better gift this year: a gift certificate to a VERY fancy NYC restaurant (she lives in NYC), plus a bottle of wine (wrapped with it).
No food so far (noon) as I am waiting to have my routine colonoscopy soon. I am super hungry and thirsty right now!
Late lunch will probably be tuna and cottage cheese. Dinner will probably be leftover turkey pot pie.

I was trying to get into the habit of posting daily but haven't been making the time for much more than reading just yet. I need to get better at this starting Monday for sure. I'm putting the final touches on everything Christmas today. Not much left to do just a relaxing, bow attaching, gift basket assembling kinda day before a visit with my BF and his family this evening.
QOTD There are two gifts that come to mind when I think of what I'm most excited to give. I made a family birthday calendar for my grandparents which will probably make my grandmother cry. With all their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren added up there are over 50 names on it and my grandparents who are both in their late 80's send homemade cards to each and every one of us on our birthdays and anniversaries. My grandfather makes the cards on his computer and they always feature the most recent picture they have of whoever they are sending it too along with a picture of themselves with raised wine glasses or cake or whatever fits the occasion. Most of us got together in October to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary and their family is so important to them so I'm excited for them to see all the names in one place like that. The second gift I'm excited for is a ceramic Santa I painted for my Mom. I used to paint one for her every year for several years in the 90's and she always has them on display in her living room for the holidays. When I was there yesterday she actually commented that it was too bad they don't seem to make them like that anymore because she would have loved more. I just agreed and inside I was smiling huge because I was very lucky to find one online in my area a few weeks ago. I knew she would be excited for it but after yesterdays conversation I'm looking forward to it that much more.
B - protein drink
L - turkey and laughing cow wedge
D - ricotta bake
S - turkey

Happy Christmas Eve Eve all!
Delayed post here because this morning the hubby and I took in an early showing of Rogue One! We really enjoyed it, and I skipped the popcorn. Last time it made me want to barf...so I went with a chicken quesadilla because I knew the chicken and cheese would keep me more full than the other carby things they had there. We were going to go shopping for a new microwave but I took one look at a picture my friend posted of her Costco and said...nope! It can wait until after Christmas, and perhaps there will be a good post-Christmas sale right?
QOTD: I love Christmas, and picking out gifts for everyone. I think my favorite this year is I got my hubby a new amp for his headphones. He had a tympanoplasty earlier this year and a good audio set up is one of his favorite things now that he can actually listen to music properly. He had surgery about 10 years ago but it wasn't always working properly, and this new one is MUCH better. Anyways...I'm excited for him to open the gift, especially since I put the box inside a box that I then wrapped with duct tape....and put that one inside another one wrapped in duct tape, and THAT one inside another one wrapped in duct tape and masking tape. Then I wrapped it.....and covered it in packing tape, and wrapped it again.
Menu:
B: Instant Pot Oatmeal - rolled oats with blueberries and protein milk
S/L: Chicken Quesadilla
S: Nature Valley Protein Bar
D: Pizza Friday!
Have a good one!

Jumping on even though it is wayyyy late.... Just want to say I love my menu peeps and all the love and support that gets shared....
Have wrapping to do and need to make a decision on what Christmas dinner will be... as I have to go pick up my son and family at the airport first.... so something simple required....When I was quickly trying to pick up some things at Target, I ended up buying 3 kinds of potatoes.... hahaha... so I guess there will be potatoes on the menu.
I saw a recipe for gingerbread banana bread I want to make my DIL. She loves gingerbread, as does my grandson...takes after his mama....

B: Egg, cheese Low carb Pita
