What foods does your pouch not like?
just tried 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes (yes, doc said it was ok) and "pouchie" got really angry. What foods does your pouch just not like?

Chicken that isn't JUST right- has to be moist, but not too moist lol. Lettuce, and raw veggies in general. The SF chocolate jello pudding. Room temperature water. Bariatric advantage multivitamins. And I'm only 8 weeks out!
Hang in there, take it slow, and be prepared for things to randomly just not work. And congratulations for making it to the other side!
I have read down a few posts and see all the chicken comments. I've been out of surgery since Sept 1 2011, doing well but still can't eat white chicken parts. Chicken vegetable soup is great and good for my Type 2 diabetes. I make the broth and avoid the salt but load it with lots of flavors. Salads greens have also been hard to eat without pain. I can take a very small amount now and like to have a few fresh veggies.
My taste has changed greatly. Popcorn doesn't taste good, diet cokes don't rock my boat anymore, very small amounts satisfy me. My refrigerator is full of half eaten meals. Well, I am aware that some people go back to old habits and regain their weight and that was a concern but when I am full I have to stop and surgery was a great decision for me. My pouch seems to have stayed small, no problems.
If you are just out of surgery, don't worry, just do the right things for you. Exercise is necessary. Find a good hobby to concentrate on and enjoy your life.
The only time I got the foamies was when I ate boiled chicken. Other than that I can't handle mixed greens (too tough), store bought meatballs, and peanuts in the shell (don't ask me why, I just always get a stomach ache after). I've also started having trouble with the Quest protein bars, but I don't eat them very often.
It has gotten much less sensitive (I'm almost 7 mo. post-op), but it really depends on the day. I have to be very careful with dense protein and make sure that I chew, chew, chew and then chew some more and not eat one bite too many. It's a catch 22. The dense protein is really the best for us for helping us feel full longer, etc. I just have to be very careful with it. Sometimes I can barely eat 2 oz, other times I'm ok with 3.5-4 oz.

Mine gurgles and goes nuts every time I eat. I get this image in my head of piranhas fighting over bits of meat.
