What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good morning everyone!
Thanks Daizymom for getting us started today! Congrats on your surgery date and may it be uneventful and go as smoothly as mine did!
I will be on to read everyone's posts and interact more today and tomorrow, which is great since i've missed you guys!
QOTD: I totally avoided the scale presurgery. Now, however, i kind of still do because during the weight loss cycle we end up having stalls, and i want to avoid stressing over that kind of thing, so I weigh maybe once every 2-3 days. However, during maintenance, I completely intend follow many vets on here and weigh everyday to adjust my menu accordingly.

I love Yoni Freehoff...although he is a non-surgical bariatric doctor, he's not anti-surgery by any means.
When you are having a bad week is exactly when you need to be on the scale. We can't put our heads in the sand...
I weigh myself daily -started pre-op. Once a day. I record it in the notes on my phone every Wednesday, that was the day of the week. I also recorded it on the 23rd of every month again because I had surgery on the 23rd of the month. Tnat was really helpful to see the month to month in the beginning. And lastly record any visits to Bariatric Doc...
I consider it part of my accountibility to myself. A lot of damage can be done in a week. If I see a few days going in the wrong direction...makes me check myself and what I am doing.

Good Morning! Thanks for getting us started. Can't wait to get home tomorrow, it hasn't been that long but with Christmas so close I am a little homesick.
QOTD: I typically weigh once a wee****asionally I will step on the scale during the week just to "check'in". During my first few months the dr suggested my husband hide the scale so I wasn't weighing everyday LOL.

Good morning DZ and my menu peeps! Its warm and muggy here today. It looks like is going to be 80 degrees on Christmas! I hate the cold but that's always a bummer. Oh well, we are bringing out the smoker and cooking briskets, hams, turkeys and ribs. We've got a bunch of orders! I rather it not be too cold during the night when we have to be sitting out in it. Oh, and I'm off all next week!!! Wohoo!!!
QOTD: I'm a total avoider!!! I was absolutely terrible before surgery and I catch myself doing it now. Right now mainly because my scale sucks and is very inconstant. I can jump on and weigh 5 times and it is 5 VERY different weights. Maybe Santa will bring me a new scale! So, yeah, I avoid bad news...like my bank account! I avoid checking that too!!!
B - Protein shake
L - Ham & root veggie medley
S - Cheese, maybe more ham
D - not sure, the inlaws are in town so may go out but definitely meat!
Sleeved 8/1/16
HW 285 / SW 276 / GW 160
QOTD: Daily weigher now, but prior WLS I was definitely an avoider. I've lost and gained hundreds of lbs. in my 57 years. When I was losing I would weigh daily. When the gaining got out of control I became an avoider. Denial - it was as though if I didn't see the number on the scale, the image I saw in the mirror or the fact that I didn't have any clothes that fit didn't count.
B: Decaf coffee w/protein powder
L: 3 oz. left-over pork roast

Good Morning all!!
QOTD: I weigh mostly daily, before I start my coffee. If I forget and start the coffee I'll skip that day! I'm also becoming less anxious if I'm up 1 pound, I know a good poop will take care of it!!!! LOL

Morning gang! All the best for your upcoming surgery DZ! It is going to go great.
My quitting smoking is going rocky but I'm working on it. My Guy has not quit so having him right there with a pack is killing me. I caved last night but this morning back on the vapor train. He claims he is going to try to quit with me...we shall see. Either way...I feel like if I can lose all this weight I can do anything so I will do this. Today I feel less like kicking things but still grinding my teeth a little. I think after a few more days I will be through the worst part...or at least that is what I keep telling myself.
QOTD: Twice a day. I weigh in the morning before I shower and at night right before bed. I have gotten to where I know what a night time weigh looks like compared to a morning weigh. It is really like an obsession in many ways. If I can't weigh I get pretty stressed. If my Guy dumps his dirty laundry on my scale I flip out.... throws off the tare! I am sort of like the Gollum in the Lord of The Rings...my scale is my precious! Prior to surgery I avoided the scale like the plague. I never weighed. Now weighing gives me a sense of control and I really like that.
Menu: B: Chobani Simply 100 "Crunch"; L: Salami, cheese, and Light & Fit Greek yogurt; D: Burger without a bun (Guy has a work Christmas party at a local burger place so it will be the best option); S: Blueberries
Accountability: Weighed in at 124 this morning. All is going well. Leaving the evil bag of crackers at my work really helped. I didn't graze on random crackers all evening and the scale moved a little down. Honestly I think it is that I was getting too much salt from all those damn delicious crackers. I made it to both Costco and the grocery store last night and have stocked up on fruits and healthy meats for the weekend. ALSO...Instapot is arriving tomorrow! Ya'll posted about the sale...I texted my Guy...last night he showed me the "On the way" from Amazon! I'm super stoked. I am looking forward to making yogurt and all sorts of wondrous things. My Guy said he wants me to make "a mess o' beans" which is apparently Texan for pinto beans with pork fat. shrug I got an Instapot out of it so it will be worth it.
Happy Holiday Week everyone!

Do you happen to have a link to the recipe you use for yogurt? And ribs while you are at it. LOL I know there are millions of things online but I figure yours are tried and true.
Thanks!
