keep vomiting and foaming.....
Hi all,
I have been having an issue in keeping anything down, I take a small bit be it, of soft cheese or even a yogurt, today it was a bite of tomato and a bite of lettuce. I feel as if it gets " stuck" I start to get nausea and then I vomit saliva, foam and the food. Now I am trying to sip on water, coffee and I get that feeling again, guess whatever was stuck is still blocking.
I went from lapband 2005 to RNY 2010 to Apollo overstitch 11/23/2016 revision to tighten my stoma to 8 cm.
I've lost 15 pounds in less than a month but, I need to be able to eat right??
This is frustrating.
I don't know anything about the apollo stitchover, but could you have a stricture you're dealing with?
(Of course, I'm sitting here typing this, stuck from breakfast, with the foamies and really just wish I could get it out of me. But this only happens once in a while for me, not all the time. I do know that I couldn't eat raw veggies for a while, maybe that's the culprit?)

This just started, I am afraid to call him only because he wanted me to stay on liquids for 45 days it hasn't been 45 days I only cheated by eating the tomato and a bit of lettuce and I have had yogurt he will be upset and say this is what happens for not listening to me.
But after the 45 days I am supposed to progress to pureed or soft foods
You know what? We would not be needing all this surgical intervention if we were perfect. Your surgeon knows that. He works for you. Let him fuss, but call. At least get checked out. I was still in the hospital from my RNY when that mess started for me... I was lucky. Get it checked out. They may be able to give you some sort of enzyme to dissolve the stuck stuff, but you may have a bigger issue.
I don't know anything about the Apollo overstitch (or your requirements to only consume liquids for 45 days (!!)), but what you're describing sure does sound like the start of a stricture. If he doesn't want you to eat yet, I guess you should follow his instructions. If you do have a stricture, eventually you won't be able to keep liquids down either.
Also, once you start vomiting, you inflame your esophagus. Most docs suggest you don't eat for 24 hours after such an episode to allow your throat to heal. That could be why liquids also feel uncomfortable.

A "normal" stoma is 18-22 mm. If yours is 8 mm, then no wonder you won't be able to start eating for 45 days. A tiny piece of lettuce would block that. 8mm is about 1/3 inch. A normal stoma is about the size of a US dime. Stay on all liquids until the 45 days is up and then see if you can eat solid foods.
Papaya tablets might break your clog.
