What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?

In spite of the grumpiness in your post, I feel a song coming on: "You better not POUT . . ."
Good luck with the smoking thing. I can't imagine how hard that must be. Good for you. I know you can do it.
I also hear you on the "Geez, again with this menu thing." I am not planning well these days!
I texted my Guy the following:
Me: Pout pout pout
Guy: Pet pet pet
Me: Better...thanks
Guy: Okay
Love is a many-splendored thing.

good luck with your quit - and congratulations! I quit for good 21 years ago (after two other fairly long quits - after the final one, I knew I'd never start up again because I'd been through that before - going for up to a year without a cigarette, then bumming one off someone like in a bar or something, and before I knew it, I was back to a pack a day - wasn't going to do that again!). It's tough and you have to white knuckle it for a long time, but unlike food addiction, you pretty much do have it licked once you're a few months out (unless, like me, you stupidly bum one off a friend....). Those cravings are gone once you get through withdrawal (physical and psychological - the latter taking much longer to get over...).
We didn't have vaping when I quit - might make it easier. I used to "smoke" straws when I was trying to deal with the psychological part. I also belonged to a usenet-type group of other people who were trying to quit, and I found that quite helpful. I was on it several times a day - like I am with OH. I'm sure that group is long gone, but I bet there are others out there.
Figure I might ask the heart doc for a new script for that when see him on the 30th. I used it a few years ago and quit for a year...but the wild crazy vivid dreams were NUTS!! I was fighting zombie hoards...all night...every night!!! If I can get through till the 30th without it then I will avoid the apocalyptic nightmares. If I fall off the wagon, zombies ahoy.

DD: Have a wonder-full and joyous celebration during your break! I love your tablecloth tradition. How very lovely.
Morning gang. Today is another day, ain't it? Not much going on with me.
QOTD: Not much tradition this year with the kiddos away from home. My plan is to just pout a while and try to distract myself. Hoping that is not a new tradition.
Menu: Geez...again with this menu thing. Arggg. I didn't get to the store last night and pickings are getting really slim. I did have Greek yogurt x2 and a Mandarin orange to pack for lunch but that is pretty much all there is in the house. Must go to the store today for sure.
Oh...and I am quitting smoking. Started this morning. Using a nicotine vapor thingy to pretend like I am a hipster and to TRY not to kill anyone. Grrr. Figure that for my heart thing it is the only other thing I know to do to try to help the situation. It likely won't help a darn thing but I did realize that should I need a heart transplant down the road they require you to be smoke free for 1-2 years. So...plan ahead right?
Also...I kind of want to kick dirt and stuff.

My husband and I were heavy smokers for years, we quit 2 years this coming New Year's, and I have to say quitting was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Losing weight is awesome but quitting smoking has made me feel so much better. It really is the best thing you can do for yourself! Good Luck!!
