What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Love and comfort to you. Be sad, not hungry. Sad is what we all are afraid of and try to avoid but it really is ok to just be sad. You are going to get through.
Lots of hugs,
~E, with her counselor hat on for a minute

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
I'm so sorry! Drug addiction and mental health issues so often fall together, and our country doesn't spend enough time, research, or money on this.
Today is a new day for you... I hope you're able to resist the food monsters today. Don't beat yourself up over it!

Good morning DD2 and gang. I got some pretty heavy news yesterday and it kinda sent me into a binge eating nose-dive. A good friend of mine lost her adult son on Monday night to a heroin overdose. He was in his early 20's and has a 3 year old son the same age as my youngest. We just saw him at his son's birthday party in October and we had a playdate with his little one just a couple of weeks ago. I am so sad for my friend, she has had such a rough year in general, she lost her best friend to ALS in October and earlier in the year they lost their house, both she and her husband lost their jobs and money has just been super tight. Both she and her hubby are back to work, and they are in a new place, but the stress of this year has been so bad. My heart goes out to her. Please say a prayer or swing a chicken for her and her family.
But, all of this sent me into a tailspin yesterday. I literally binged last night, to the point that I was hurting, and then I had some more. I didn't even track my calories. My hubby is back to work after being off on medical for 2 weeks after his surgery, and he had to stay the night away so it was just me and the kids. It was so hard to deal with.
But today is another day. I haven't eaten breakfast and I didn't pack a lunch, but they are ordering from a Mexican place here today so I'm getting a bowl with beans and steak, which should be a decent lunch (as long as I don't eat the chips).
DD2QOTD: I have started a tradition in my family. Since 2009 I have been hosting Christmas Day at my house. My side of the family comes at around noon and we do a gift exchange, and then my inlaws come at around 3 for dinner. My mother in law, who lives around the block, hosts Christmas Eve. I love the holiday's and I love hosting. I also love giving gifts.
I don't have a menu for today. Just coffee this morning.
My niece's husband passed last Christmas from a heroin overdose, it's such a sad thing to happen and he had 2 babies at home. Why do people do this to themselves??!! So sad

Hey all, I'm texting under the table during an all staff meeting today...Shhh. I'll have to come back and read later.
2 more days until vacation! Home stretch!
QOTD: I've told you al the story of losing my friend to cancer 2 years ago and how that has changed our traditions. I'm really excited to start some new traditions with Grim this year :)
I'm totally feeling my menu today. So excited to actually have food! I'm still 90% CAMAW, with the exception of the yummy carbs they put in my yogurt. CAMAW has really worked, friends. I'm down to 114 today. Almost down 5lbs in under a week. Except for a few bites of fudge, I've said no to all the treats this week. Gotta say I'm feeling proud. It hasn't been easy...
