What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Good morning!!! I have been up since 3 making Christmas cookies, gluten sugar free! Let's see how everyone deals with these this year! lol
Well this year will be different for us, we always went to my sister's for Christmas and Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve she always had a huge Christmas party with friends and relatives from all over coming to celebrate. Well this year her son who now has a family of his own wanted to do Christmas at his house so that the kids could get up and open presents under their own tree. Which I don't blame him at all, so Christmas morning we will go there and my sister will go the day before and spend the night with them, it will be quiet this year and I am kind of looking forward to that.

Good Morning all. Enjoy your time away Daisy! You will be missed. I love your table cloth idea! That would be a nice idea to use at Thanksgiving time as well. I have found with the passing of my mother several years ago many family traditions sadly ended. As when family's grew and started their own traditions many of the older ones ended. I can only hope as my own immediate family begins to grow that their traditions continue to include my husband and I.
B: coffee
L: meat crust pizza
D: possibly meat loaf depending on time I get home from work
Good Morning all!! Daisy, I hope your vacation is full of enjoyment, rest and relaxation!!
QOTD: I took over the Christmas Eve meal when it became too much for by Bamma (Babcia and Gramma combined) My Grandparents then took turns visiting a different childs family every Christmas Eve. When my husband Mark passed, my boys insisted that we keep the tradition of hosting The Christmas Eve meal. It was also their Dad's birthday, so it was a remembrance of him as well! Now I'm the oldest of 5 so I enlist the help of my siblings with food so it doesn't all fall on me!!! We haven't kept all the Polish traditions of Christmas on Christmas, most have been transferred to Easter. But I do have hay under a linen napkin as the centerpiece to represent the manger for the baby Jesus.

Hi All!
Quick post this morning, so much to do at work today!! I'm off 1/2 day Friday- going to my 1 year!! appt with surgeon. I hope they are pleased but they have always been happy with my progress and I met their weight goal many pounds ago. Then I will go into Aldi for last minute shopping including german cookies and treats for guests, a duck for after Christmas (ham on Christmas day). I do need to make some desserts also to take to my sisters.
QOTD: we had a lot of things we did growing up that we no longer do- I always remember a big bowl of nuts and a nutcracker. Dad even had this thingamabobby that you pull back like a slingshot and it cracked the nuts- it was cool. We had a special set of angel ornaments that my mom and dad made in pottery class in the 1970's. most have gotten broken but what was left was split between the 3 of us girls. I always loved going to midnight services on christmas eve with my family and lighting the candles.
I can't say specifically that we carried on specific traditions. Each year seems to be different- when sisters kids were smaller we would always go to my moms- this year my oldest is hosting dinner on christmas eve with a 'santa' coming. I will see my other sister the day after for a lunch at a restaurant, dad and other sister will come also. We will see DH's family day after also. so mostly visiting and eating to recap it all up with my family.
Starting to get more and more comments about how I'm 'too thin' meanwhile I can't get the scale to move!! I had someone close to me ask me how much I'm eating and that someone mentioned to them that I look anorexic. It really pissed me off. I told her- 3 years from now, you won't be saying how I look too thin and then if I were to listen to you and stop losing I would end up resenting you because you do not know my body or my situation. Then i changed the subject to how everyone in our family keep gaining weight and she quickly shut up.
Editing to put my menu- sorry totally spaced out.
Yesterday was under 780 calories, 115 prot !! (tons of fish) and 25 carb
I'm on day 13 of 30 days of yoga! It has been good- and I've stayed WARM inside my house!
Today I'm having in no particular order:
Eggs/decaf/kombucha tea/water/leftover tilapia from last nights dinner/ham/yogurt/brussels sprouts/turkey taco meat/protein pancakes
trying to stay clear of the ham due to water retention but it does need to be eaten and I don't like wasting/throwing away food.
"Too thin" comments come in the beginning...your body readjusts a little over time and you lose the gaunt look. I had people telling me I lost enough when I was still over 200 pounds.
