What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?

I am blown away by your energy level at 22 days post op! Man I didn't have any energy until like 3 months post op! Go you!!!
Makeup artist is very cool. I suck at putting on makeup, I do the bare minimum and eyeliner and eye shadow scare me, I am just not talented with that stuff!
Sounds like you have great kids, enjoy it now they might change as they get older!!
Daisy--I'm pretty surprised that my energy level is where it's at, but I did a lot of pre-conditioning before RNY, so I think that may have attributed to it a little. Another reason I just get things done is because I feel better when things aren't left undone. I do barn chores and feed animals every morning before 7. I try to get some sort of exercise in every morning by 5:30 so I can shower and get the kids up for school. Right now, school is out, so I have a little extra time to do the makeup, and I was just noticing today that my eyeliner has been "on point" for the last I don't know how long....I mean, it's been a long time since I've just washed it all off and started over.

Yes, they do... we have one from the kill shelter, and two more we adopted from people just tired of having them... only one was sold to us by someone that cared for, and spent time with her.

I want a ranch too!! But mine would be filled with dogs, all shapes & sizes! Horse trainer and breeder would be cool for sure!
I would love to rescue all the animals too!!
I was called into a meeting as soon as I got to the office, so late post for me. Well, my weekend indulgences have caught up to me and I'm up 1.3 lbs. Yesterday, my plan went out the window when a coworker brought in homemade tamales, then it again went out the window when I went to lunch with a coworker and we split a pastrami sandwich (I had 1 bite with bread and then just the meat, but still). Anyway, I think it's probably a combination of champagne at our party on saturday, more calories than I'm used to (although even with everything I've stayed within my calorie budget set by my dietitian) and extra salt. So, I'm going to try and stick to high protein and pound a crap ton of water and see what happens. I have a Dr. appt on 1/4 so I have great motivation to GET IT OFF
DQOTD: I want to be a party/wedding planner when I grow up! I throw really beautiful parties (if I do say so myself) and would love to do it for a living . . . except I don't know how successful I'd be since I'm not very good at following through with someone else's "vision." It would only work if I was given free reign!
Plan:
B: 2.76 oz sliced roast beef
L: 3.8 oz NY strip steak, 1.4 c beans
D: Chicken and broccoli
S: Latte, turkey slices, almonds
Totals: Cal. 835; Protein: 101g; Fat: 27g; carbs: 34g (that's more like it!)

can we all say that this time of year calls for Indulgences and we need to give ourselves a "pass" but keep in mind that come January we need to go AMAW or CAMAW? LOL LOL
I totally didn't expect you to say party/wedding planner. Being that you are a Lawyer I figured you would go for the corporate side of things and run a billion dollar company or bank or something. I love that you have this side to you! Man if we only lived closer, I want to plan a 50th bday party for hubby that also coincides with our 20 year anniversary, you could plan it for us and I would give you a budget and say knock yourself out as long as it incorporates baseball and Labs and the colour purple ha ha ha
pastrami rocks, I love that and eat it a lot at our fav diner, I eat it open face with a lot of spicy mustard!
Corporate law is so totally not me. Actually, if I had to pick a "legal" dream job it would be filing insurance appeals with the Departments of Insurance throughout the Country. After what happened with me this past year and trying to get approved for something less than revision, I know that it would be very difficult for someone who doesn't have the medical/insurance background I do to navigate the system. I would do that job in a heartbeat (even though the big bad insurance companies basically pay my salary). But OMG! I would be in heaven planning that party!!!! I'll come to Toronto for 6 weeks and do all the planning!!! I can telecommute, right???
As for the pastrami, you need to get yourself to Los Angeles. We have to iconic pastrami restaurants here. Johnnie's Pastrami (where I went yesterday) is basically shaved pastrami piled high with spicy mustard and pickles. It is AMAZING. Equally amazing is Langers Deli. They hand slice their pastrami and the slices are really thick and spicy. When I go there, I just order a pastrami platter which is the meat, some cole slaw, swiss cheese and pickles. AMAZING
