Iv nutrition:(
Warm or hot chicken broth - chicken bone broth (Costco carry them) with added no-salt salt (has potassium) are a great way to get hydrated and increase minerals intake.
If you don't train your new pouch to work now - later you may have more issues with dense proteins.
"I can't" can not be in your mind. You should be asking yourself- if this does not work - what CAN I try?
For many weeks I could only drink hot or very warm drinks. I carry my thermos with me everywhere. And sip on it every couple of minutes. I had 3 x 18oz thermos bottles. I made my tea/ hot drinks every morning and by mid day I had to have that in. Then I would make the next batch.
Even now - I can drink 8 oz at a time - I keep a bottle of water by my bed and if I get up in a middle of the night - I drink at least 8 oz. Then go back to sleep.
It gets easier with time - but not "easy".

I'm 5 weeks out. I've had IV fluids and vitamins two times now, just yesterday was the last round.
Apparently I'm a slow learner. While sitting there they brought me a bottle of water and a nice hot cup of coffee. Well, guess what, room temperature or cold water gives me terrible pain, cramping and nausea. The hot/warm coffee make my little tummy feel good without any side effects.
So, today, I've only had warm beverages (water, coffee, tea) and I'm doing better -- still behind -- I've had 20 ounces so far without any pain, etc.
OH and the vitamins with the IV fluid is to help the body absorb the fluid better. I gotta say the B12 has given me some energy.
And don't be discouraged, I was angry at the responses of some towards you too. People can offer advice with compassion and that wasn't extended to you. I don't know why some long time RNYers are so angry... maybe they need a hamburger or something! (it's a joke people).
Thankfully I have not vomited once since surgery - pray I don't - but I certainly understand the inability to get all the fluids and proteins in!!
Hang in there, they keep saying it will get better, we just gotta believe it will!

No, we don't need hamburgers.
We have seen these situations ad nauseum. We could say 'there, there, dear' or we could give valuable advice that will actually benefit the poster.
Post op nausea is common. It is exacerbated by dehydration. It is unpleasant but absolutely has to be addressed. The OP posted and was given a lot of good advice. No one was mean. Mincing around delicately would do her no good.
I threw up ice water as a post op because my stomach didn't appreciate it. So I learned room temp was bettter for me. I also learned mint herbal tea was inoffensive to my stomach, so I sipped that, too. I spent my early days constantly sipping to get my fluids. Even now I carry water everywhere. Needs must.

I have cheeseburgers at least 4 times per week. With bacon, if they have it.
