Good morning Daisy and menu friends, cold cold cold. I've bought 3 pairs of mitts in the last few weeks, trying to find a pair that will actually keep my hands warm. Had a great weekend, our dinner at the Keg was amazing. Got a lot done but still have a lot more to do.
QOTD I have far to many ER visits to mention.

Good morning everyone!
Daisy: Great photo! You and the pups look warm, despite the frigid air and snow! and good job having only 2 gifts left to wrap! I have probably 7-8 more left to wrap in the coming days.
This post will be quick again. Our magazine's January Issue goes to press today, so its still a busy time here at work, but at least its the last of the busy days for another 3-4 weeks!
QOTD: When i was pregnant with my son I had developed High blood pressure, and considered a high risk pregancy. ANd yes, it happened, at 33 weeks I had preeclampsia, where my blood pressure skyrocketed and had to deliver him 7 weeks early, to save both of our lives. I put on a bunch of BP meds to help in the aftermath. Well a few weeks after, as the mother, you are still at risk, and sure enough my BP, which i was closely monitoring every other day. Because it seemed controlled, my PCP took my meds down a bit. Well, 6 weeks later, my BP went back up to 195ish/90, so we went to the ER. They had to up my BP med doses again to where it was when I jsut had my baby. That was my ER experience.

What magazine do you work at? My BFF works for the production department in magazines in Boston and has worked at Design Times, Natural Health, The Atlantic Monthly and now Harvard Business Review. It's such a cool environment!

It is! The magazine is called The Health Journal, a wellness and lifestyle magazine in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. It can be a wonderful environment, yes. There was once a great team here where we all collaborated and pulled equal weight, and I loved it. I wish management was better, because this place could still be awesome under different leadership. I'm currently looking for something new and hope to find something like that again!

Another chilly day in Illinois--3 as I type and schools were cancelled today because roads and parking lots are very icy right now.. I'm hoping it warms up a bit so Lily and I can walk this afternoon but if not I will hit the treadmill again. So boring even with TV. Yes I've been to the ER several times: twice with my youngest for a cut on his face and when he had his first epileptic seizure (almost lost him that time as he was taken by helicopter to St Louis). Also many times for me--2 broken feet,1 broken leg,a cut to my hand that needed stitches and after my one foot surgery because the foot swelled and the cast was cutting off circulation on the weekend. Bless my doctors heart as he came in on Saturday night, took off the cast and reset and casted it again --yes he was cute and single but I'm an old married lady. Post op 4 years 4 days and weight at 117 today. Here's the food plan B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c ham and beans D 31/2 oz smoked sausage and 1/2 c green beans S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices that get you one step closer to your goal.
