What's on your Menu today (Monday) RNYers?
YAY, Daisy! So jealous of your two weeks off work! I have to work all week this week, and one day next week. My bf and I are taking a road trip in our new car to visit his family for a few days which should be fun. I can't wait to not log onto my computer everyday!!! Have an awesome vacation :)
QOTD - I tripped on my parents driveway while drunk when I was about 20 and home from college for the summer. I crawled up to my parents room when it happened (around 1 am) and knocked and whispered, "Mom, I hurt my ankle". She crabbily yelled, "Go to bed! I will look at it in the morning!". I lay in bed all night wide awake in pain. When she woke up and saw that my ankle was easily twice its normal size, she was like, "Why didn't you tell me it was this bad???" and felt awful LOL. I sprained it and had to drive her car back to college since mine was a stick. Poor woman was stuck in my crappy car that had manual locks and windows and no power steering for six weeks!

Hello Everyone,
I'm always cold now regardless of the temp here in New England. Guess I'll adjust at some point.
QOTD: In 1990 I was a census taker and I slipped and fell on a side walk and spiral broke my leg in three places! I was taken to the emergency room where I sat with my leg up for quite a while. ***warning this is gross* my leg was off of the edge of the leg rest on the wheelchair and eventually the bone that was broken poked out. Then they got me in very quickly.... apologizing the whole time. Guess I didn't look like I was in as much pain as I actually was in.

Cold is the "RNY new normal" its sucks but at least come Summer you won't be sweating buckets like before... consider it a blessing in disguise LOL
you must have a super high pain tolerance to have your bone sticking out... wow
I always forget about shrimp & ****tail sauce but man I love that stuff!! Great job on your menu & totals!
Good afternoon Daisy and menu friends! I hope all is well, it is frigid in the great northeast as well. My folks arrived at our house yesterday from their winter home in florida and they are in shock! LOL.
I am going to receive the job offer tomorrow and I am expecting that I will be asked to sign an intent to hire. Please think of me, I want this bad.
QOTD - I was snow blowing slushy snow one day and it kept getting clogged, I was using the tool to remove the snow from the chute but it was not working very well, the blower clogged once again and I shut off the motor and punched my hand through the snow. Even though the blower was off there was enough torque in the machine that it spun and caught the middle finger on my left hand and crushed the bone and ripped the skin around it, not completely off. I kept my glove on , my wife is an ER RN ( she was taking a nap..LOL) I ran in the house with my hand above my head and started hollering that we had to go top the hospital. Startled the heck out of her. She wrapped me up and we headed to the hospital , I looked funny in the car as I had to hold my hand above my heart and it looked as though I was giving people the finger...LOL.
B - caramel apple pie greek yogurt
S - proni and cheese
L - Left over smoked chicken ( if we were FB friends you would see the finished product pics from last night)

Stay healthy my friends. Mike

I have my frozen fingers and frozen toes crossed for you Mike!! I am so excited about your job offer!
OH my on the finger in the snow blower! Ouch!! Thank god your wife is an ER RN, and I can just picture the drive to emerg, your hand/arm in the air and the finger straight up, hilarious!
Enjoy being spoiled by Mom, what a nice treat!! Keep me posted on the job front okay!!!
Good afternoon guys!
I had a rough start this morning, not sure why but my stomach was very upset and I felt generally crappy. I chalk it up to some not-so-wise menu decisions this weekend. I had some bland yogurt for breakfast/lunch and I'm feeling a bit better. Today is my son's 5th birthday, and lucky for me he doesn't like cake so I don't have to worry about having that in the house
It's super cold here today - yesterday it was 70, today it's in the high 30s....I am a human ice-cube!
QOTD: I've been to the ER several times....most notable is probably when I was in my early 20s, I had been feeling rotten for days and had what I thought was a stomach bug......I had trouble keeping anything down and the nausea was awful. Being in my 20s, I was broke and had crappy health insurance, so I didn't think going to the hospital was necessary when they were just going to tell me I had a stomach bug. Well...finally my then-boyfriend forced me to go by saying I either let him take me or he would call an ambulance and I'd have to pay for it. I went, and they listened to my symptoms and did a bunch of tests, including an ultrasound. The doctor comes in and I'm absolutely certain they're going to tell me that it was just indigestion....but nope, turns out I had gallstones AND pancreatitis. I ended up getting admitted and was in the hospital for several days. To make me feel better, my then-boyfriend got a bunch of my coworkers and friends to call me up. It was during that hospital stay that I actually spoke to my now-husband on the phone for the very first time, I don't remember much about the actual conversation...but clearly he made an impression.
B: plain greek yogurt
S: plain greek yogurt
Later meals depends on how I continue to feel!
Have a great day guys!
