Good Morning Menu Peeps! How is everyone? Its Frigid here, has been all weekend. I haven't felt my toes since last week some time, UGH! Had an amazing weekend, it was crazy busy but it was one of the best weekends ever! I have only 2 gifts left to get and then wrapping. I will start the wrapping tonight and be set & ready! Here is a pic of me & the pups on our hike this weekend, we have a ton of snow and it was so cold but I love my hikes with my pups & hubby.
Just a head's up for you all, I am going on vacation as of this Thursday December 22nd and won't be doing the daily menu thread from the 22nd - 2nd until I get back Tuesday January 3rd, feel free to work it out among yourselves who will start up the menu thread!
QOTD: Have you ever been to the Emergency room? What for? When I as a few days short of my 25th birthday I was out rollerblading and I used to Rollerblade everywhere, I was into it hardcore. Well here's ironic for you, I was stopped at a light waiting to cross on the sidewalk and left left foot slipped (???? not sure how) and I fell awkwardly on my right foot, snapped my ankle in the rollerblade and went down on my knees hard! I remember screaming out in pain! So it was summer, it was hot and a few people stopped by to see if I was okay and I thought I had just turned my ankle the wrong way so I told them I was fine and they left. So I took my skates off and saw my ankle swelling already so I walked home to my parents house (yes I walked home) and by the time I got home my ankle was starting to turn 12 shades of blue & purple and swollen like a watermelon. My Dad picked me up, put me in the car, off to Emerg we went. Xrays determined a nice clean break (oh ya) and the only highlight was there was this ridiculously good looking ambulance driver that was chatting with me while they set my ankle and gave me a soft cast, it made the pain bearable! ha ha A few days later I was back at the hospital, got a light purple coloured fiberglass cast which was on my ankle/leg for the whole summer. I turned 25 in a cast, could not drive my 5 speed standard car because it was my right ankle that was broken and was not able to weight bare for the whole summer and was totally reliant on my parents, yes that summer sucked. To this day that ankle gives me problems.

Good morning! Not as cold here in New England - it has abated since last week, though it is colder than yesterday (60 yesterday - 30 this morning). The snow we had on Saturday morning is melted, so I don't think it will be a white Christmas. BUT it is dark in the morning! Can't wait until after winter solstice. 7:07 am right now and still dark!
QOTD: The only time I was in an emergency room for myself was when I was 17 and was in a car accident. I broke both my jaws and had to have stitches in my lower lip. They wired my teeth together for a few weeks. I remember being at a party where people were eating pizza - I almost cut the wires (you have to keep scissors all the time in case you vomit because you could choke). I've spent more time in them with family members (broken or dislocated bones, stitches, cardiac events with parents). Not a good place to be...
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, roasted tomatoes/chilis
L: tuna, cottage cheese, pickles
D: leftover something (I have 3-4 servings of leftovers from restaurant meals)
S: quest chips, nut thins and hummus...

Good morning everyone.
QOTD- when I was a kid, I had a few emergency room mishaps. One time I was at the school yard with my cousins. My cousin found a broken baseball bat and was walking across the top of the wooden play structure- th old style ones with a tire swing. He was throwing the bat up and down and catching it. Anyway in his defence he told me to move back- I didn't and the bat fell and hit me in the head. I ended up needing 3 stitches. Could have been worse.
We have our Christmas lunch today so I may just have yogurt for breakfast. It's an Italian place (East Side Marios for the Canadians) but I haven't really decided what I will have yet. Appointment with the surgeon tomorrow.
This was share on my local support group wall so I thought I'd pass it along here as well.

"Failure is not falling down, It is not getting up once you fell... So pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again...."
p.s. Looks like they have a few East Side Mario's in Michigan (although I don't live in Michigan, so I'd never heard of it). Menu looks scary - esp the "all you can eat" part!!! Well, the tomato soup looks OK - and they have a couple of salads you could pick at. And a pan-fried fish that's 650 calories (although I'd only eat half of that, since I only allow myself 1200 calories) - but otherwise - yikes! You might just have to pick at stuff!
I know - not many options really at all. The all you can eat applies to the salad and bread- I know I can resist the bread. :) BUT a part of me wants to say- forget it and enjoy lol- surgeon appointment tomorrow. No idea how quickly I will be on opti and having surgery.
