so I posted about the nausea and constipation.  Well the constipation seems to be settling down with meds. I have a new nausea medicine but it isn't helping much. I have until Wednesday to increase my protein and fluids or I could be looking at iv nutrition. I am scared. I am trying but I just can't get these fluids and protein in.

Anyone else have nutrition via iv?

Sorry to hear you're struggling. Around 4-6 weeks I ended up back in the hospital for about 5 days on IV nutrition including an IV anti-nausea med. I felt so much better after a few days. I think it might have been dehydration that caused me the severe nausea because they did a scope and CT scan which came back normal. Any time I tried to drink or eat (or even thought about it) I would gag and dry heave. Freezies and Popsicles were all I could tolerate and only a few sucks here and there.

Im now 6.5 months post op and can tolerate everything I've tried. I eat and drink without issues and feel amazing. Hang there and do what you need to to get through this - it will get better!

I don't have much helpful advice because I didn't have problems like this at all, but I'm sending you good vibes!

I'm almost 3 years post-op now, but I've been struggling with constipation too and took meds for it the first time the other day and I think the anti-constipation meds are making me very nauseous. Could the meds be making it worse?

How about changing the temp of the liquids you're trying to drink. Experiment with ice cold and room temperature water, hot tea and tepid tea, etc.

I had to drink my fluids like clockwork -on a schedule to get them all in. ...

I found tic tacs were my best friend in the beginning. The mint helps with nausea- the white ones. Suck on one or two. Carried them everywhere.
