Upper GI scheduled
I had my surgeon's office call me yesterday and set up my upper GI appointment for Jan 6th. I called and got my final pcp appointment (6th month) moved up to Jan 5th. My patient advocate will then be able to submit my paperwork to my insurance company. I then have to wait for them to approve ( I was told this could take up to 2 weeks). Once they approve I have to take 3 nutrition classes and then finally my surgery can be scheduled. I am still hoping to get my surgery done the end of January, but I guess it could drag on until February. I am so tired of waiting. I have been eating pretty much only protein and veggies since Sept., I have been drinking at least 64 ounces of water for several weeks and I am down to 1/2 of a 20 ounce bottle of diet coke a day (From over 100 ounces a day). I am weaning myself off completely this week. I have lost 42.4 pounds since Sept 21st. I am ready for this and tired of waiting..sorry for whining, but it seems like I have been waiting forever.

I totally understand. I was referred by my dr. last February. I'm finally going to see the surgeon on Tuesday and then I will get my date for surgery. Up here, it's quite common for the process to take a year or longer.
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
I have a friend in Canada who is going through the WLS process and it definitely does seem to take a long time! Totally worth it in the end though. I had my upper GI earlier this year - because I have a lap-band they couldn't give me the fizzy stuff that they normally would, so I just had to do a barium swallow and move around so they could take pictures. Some of it was ok, some was really unpleasant because of the issues I have with my band...I have a hiatal hernia and nasty reflux....so I had to just do what they asked and chanted 'don't puke, don't puke, don't puke' in my head until it was over haha! Hopefully yours will be nice and easy in comparison!

I'd be unstoppable if not for law enforcement & physics
I imagine so! Congrats on losing over 42 lbs so far - that's terrific! Sticking to a strict diet for months is tough -- if it wasn't, we'd all be thin and not needing surgery to begin with.
What a bummer they are making you wait before taking the nutrition classes. That just draws things out even further.
Good luck with this last month or so of hanging in there! Snuggle those doxie loves and take them on lots of little walks.
