Tips for Flying while on Soft/Mushy/Protein Drink stage
My son and I are flying on Christmas day to Florida for a quick get away and to watch my son from another mother play in the St. Petersburg football Bowl game. With flying restrictions on liquids and powder -- what are ya'll suggestions for how I take care of myself. 6 hours in either airports or flying -- I can't ignore my protein needs during that time. I'm open to suggestions and ideas!

Laughing cow cheese is great as it doesn't need to be refrigerated.
If you use protein shakes, then I suggest having an empty shaker bottle with you and some travel packs of Syntrax nectar. I flew 13 hours a few weeks after surgery and the Nectar travel packs helped me tons to get in both my fluid and protein.

TSA rules allow you to carry these " medically necessary goods" in any amount. You need to tell them you have the items and they will check everything do becsore to allow plenty of time for that.
You ou can go on the TSAWeb site and print the paragraphs pertaining this info to show if any one wants to deny it
I never see a real restriction on powder when flying domestically. But to be safe - I buy individual portions packed protein powder. most brands sell that. I cna put -1-2 of those into my purse, and a few more in my bag... then just buy bottled water and mix it.
in my carry on I carry (empty) small blender bottle - or even a small jar.
When I travel - I often have my thermos vacuum type - sealable bottle - Stainless, buti keep empty and ready to pull out for inspection.
i love my drinks either cold or hot. and since they are so easy t just stick in my carry on - they are useful in a car, on a plane.. anywhere. Just buy water and refill.

I brought protein powder and go****er bottles once I went through security. Also, in the airport conscience stores they sold light and fit Greek yogurt so I was fine.

Get a blender bottle and either a travel packet or scoop some protein in a plastic bag, I always think travel packets sealed are better less Q's about the white substance LOL in a baggie (if you do a baggie, use chocolate LOL) then just request on the fligh****er or milk or buy it past security.
Here's a little presentation I did on post-op traveling http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2015/10/healt hy-travel-tips-keeping-your-health.html hope it give you a few tips.
Ask for a fridge in your hotel room (for medical purposes)
Convenience or supermarket store stop for cottage cheese, yogurt, cheesestick.
Eating out... don't get too adventurous... soup or my go to was always crab or scallops... super soft and doesn't make you feel like a patient ;)
How fun! Hope your son from another mother's team wins!
Love your link... thank you.
I've ordered a bunch of Nectar sample packs (haven't tried those yet; but, if I'm on an adventure, I might as well be adventurous).
We're staying with my Uncle so at least that part is easy!
I've been having wonderful results with my chili and eating a chopped steak or hamburger while out. the other night I had a piece of hubby's chicken quesadilla and oh my, it was wonderful with some salsa on it.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions and link to your page - it's wonderful.
Whatb HALA says - Individual packages - labeled and unopened. Vitamin shope and GNC have wide selections. They will give you water on the plane.
Have fun. When you arrive, you can buy stuff. I was surprised to see Pure Protein shakes at Walmart.

I've traveled in the US and internationally with zero problems with protein powders in non-original packaging.

I don't really suggest you do this, but I had to take an international flight (13 hours on the plane during the longest flight, over 24 hours total between 3 flights and layovers) less than 2 months after surgery, so I shortened the time in each stage a bit in order to make sure I could eat basically anything.
I don't think you'll do serious damage even if you have to go 6 hours without eating as long as you eat immediately before and after the flight, but it certainly wouldn't be pleasant either. It should be easy enough to bring some protein powder in a shaker and buy milk or water to mix it with on the other side of security. I also ate a lot of cheese sticks (they sell them in the little convenience stores at the airport). Another option is to buy a breakfast sandwich and take out just the egg and cheese to eat and get rid of the bread and meat.
Good luck with your holiday travels.
