3 week post op surgeon visit and some questions
I wouldn't worry about it either. Keep doing what you are doing. You need the protein so you don't loose muscle mass. I was a really slow looser but steady and 17 pounds in 3 weeks is not slow!

I just hate it when they do that. My NUT said same thing at my two week post-op visit. "Oh, that is a slow loss for two weeks"... it was 4 pounds, and I had gained 8 pounds in the hospital for a total loss of 12. I had been excited just to go in the right direction, and was crushed until I posted something and was reminded about what a major surgery it was. I am down 58 pounds since I began this journey. Which is exactly the first time in my life that I have gone consistently in the down direction. Hooray. Do exactly what you are doing! Maybe I would increase my calories a tiny bit at some point. My team wants my calories about 600 a day... but others might have a different approach.
Congratulations!!!

she can go suck an egg. 17 lbs in three weeks is great! I lost 16 lbs my entire first month, and in addition, I was told by a medical resident during my three-month post appt that I was a "slow loser". Well this "slow loser" has lost over 200 lbs, and made it to a normal BMI. People lose at all different rates and it depends on a variety of factors. This stupid doctor should know that. What a jerk..
