What's on your Menu Today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
Hello Daisy and menu folks. I hope you are all well, I have been lurking and not posting like I should , though I am doing well. I have been so busy.
Update regarding job offer - I had to go for a meeting with the CFO on Wednesday, it went well and he said some encouraging things and I walked away feeling good. I have been asked to meet with them again next Tuesday to finalize the offer. I am hoping they come in with an offer higher than my counter to ensure I make a quick decision. I have made my decision and will accept their original offer if it comes to that. This has been a stressful process for me, I have worked at the same place for 27 years!
B- protein bar
S - buddig meat and cheese
L - 4 oz of general tso chicken
D - steak
Stay healthy my friends.
Picture is prior to heading to the new England Patriots game on Monday vs the Ravens. Had a great time, even though I am a Cowboy fan.

Hello everyone!
I'm definitely feeling the pressure to get everything ready for Christmas on time. I felt like I had lots of time and started a bunch of projects but now I need to get my butt in gear and finish what I've started. I love the pictures of all the Santas and ceramics. I used to paint them every year for my mom for Christmas as well as pieces for her Christmas village. Since I have some time off after my surgery I thought I would revive the tradition this year but they are much harder to find these days. I did get lucky and found one online that was close to home so I'm really excited to get that done for her. It's coming along well and I know it will be a great surprise for her.
I don't have a tree this year, it just didn't work out with my surgery and the lifting restrictions. We have always gone tree hunting as a family and this year I went for the walk to help my mom and sister pick theirs. I think they were more upset that I didn't get one than I was. I decorated my mantle prior to surgery and after seeing the posts about the ceramic trees maybe I'll pull that out and use it as a stand in this year.
QOTD I can relate to basically everything being said about previous Christmas's... the awkward uncomfortable getting ready, trying to pick something to look decent in, the present sizing... yep, yep, yep. This year will be a little different but I still have a ways to go. My super awesome amazingly supportive mom has already asked if I need her to make anything special for me but nope I'll be fine with some turkey and my scale.
My pictures are my mantle and one of the Santa ceramics I painted many many moons ago.
Have a great day everyone!

Hello online holiday family! It is very rainy and dark here, so that belies how late in the day it is. I helped my husband with his ginormous holiday cooking project this morning, so I am really behind and will have to read everyone's posts and admire photos a little later today.
My husband loves to cook (could be related to my weight issues obviously). He had overextended himself wanting to make homemade giant cupcakes for 20 work associates. So he was frantic trying to finish this morning. So my first photo is of him and his cupcakes in process. This is not a good photo of him--he was quite grumpy I was interrupting his work for a photo.
I do not mean this photo to be a food trigger for anyone, but perhaps if you look at this, and imagine me in this marriage for 25 years, and after WLS, you will understand some of my daily food challenges.
Also, see the ornaments we hang above the kitchen sink every year? They are really pretty and one of my favorite decorations.
Went to an early showing of Rogue One last night! Wearing plaid for Plaid Thursday, in honor of my 18 son who is currently living in Korea and always wore plaid on Thursdays! And yes I know I am like the rhyme Deedle Deedle Dumpling--with one stocking on. I have a leg brace on that leg and it requires a sock to avoid chaffing.
Now for Christmas photos. I am in my sweats here, not looking my best--because: husband's ginormous cooking project!--but I got the hub to take a minute to snap a shot. Here's how it went down: "Sure I will help you bag and ribbon and card all these cupcakes, if you will take a photo of me!"
I love this little corner of our house at Christmas, full of memories of people I love--a quilted wall hanging my mother-in-law (who died far too early) made. And my crafty cousin made the white angel from a decorative pillowcase that belonged to my grandmother. The little hanging angels are wooden ornaments from East Germany, when there was an East Germany, purchased on a special trip when my husband and I were first married. (Trip was NOT to East Germany though!) One of the stuffed Santas and the sewing machine were from my parents' house, and the little ceramic Santa and Mrs Santa mouse bells on the front of the sewing machine were purchased on a special outing with a friend in my young adult years--an outing that was full of wonder and delight at Christmas, snow, and my newfound financial independence.
Christmas tree! Ornaments picked up from travels. The little horse is from Russia in college! The little birdhouse from Germany when I was a child!
Food today is boring and the same because I am on the run now:
B skipped--just lots of Crio Bru
L Italian ground beef with grape tomatoes and mozzarella
D going to a wedding--hoping to find things that fit my WLS eating
S Cashew bites, homemade paremesan crispes
Hi everyone- quick post from me today. First, I want to start off by asking those of you who pray, swing chickens, meditate- whatever to spare some thoughts my hubby's way. My hubby is a deacon at his church, and a founding member. He's been under the leadership of the same Bishop for over 20 years. The Bishop is losing his battle with cancer and has been given only days to live. My hubby has to break the news to the church members tonight. The Bishop counseled us, married us and baptized one of my sons- I have great respect for him and am heartbroken to hear the news. Consider- my weekend plans are up in the air- whatever my hubby/his church needs.
No photo from me today- it actually easier to post photos from my phone since that is where they are mostly stored and I'm on my work 'puter.
Had the holiday luncheon at work- I brought baked ziti but didn't; eat it. I actually brought a chicken breast for my lunch and allowed my self to enjoy a few sweets the holiday lunch. Of course my tummy didn't enjoy it as much as my mind did.
Weight today: 192.7, 19 months out

My thoughts are with you, your husband and everyone affected by the Bishops illness. That is a challenging position for your husband to be in. Cancer is an ugly monster that has taken too many people from my life much too soon. Hoping you all find the strength you need.
