Merry Pigmas to you as well, that is awesome!  I love your house and how you can see your pretty tree through your front window, its awesome and your house lights look great!!

I love that you can now get on the floor with the kids, how awesome is that.  Very sweet of your family & friends to take into consideration that you are on purees still!

Great menu, its awesome you can get so many meals out of things eh!  Love it!

As for the Miralax. If you just started to use it it might take 2-3 days to start to work so don't give up on it if it does not work in a day.  But if you are backed up or feel you are getting backed up use it until you go.  Going to the bathroom after surgery is a must!

6 MILES before your family even woke up!! WOW you are kicking butt! Keep up the awesome work!  Have a great weekend!

Goodmorning Daisy and menu friends, I just lost my post when I tried to add my photo, so I'm just going to keep this one short. Daisy I love your hand painted santa's,they are gorgeous. I'm very excited to go to the Keg steak house tonight for my husbands Christmas party. I'm wearing a new cute little dress. Always have dreaded going in the past.

QOTD: I could totally relate to everything you said Daisy, especially about being hot, I was a big hot sweaty mess and had to carry a towel with me everywhere I went. Not this year friends.

Lizz I AM SO JEALOUS OF THE KEG!!! Any excuse hubby and I have to go there we do!  I always get the same thing: filet mignon with extra veggies.  Hubby always gets escargots as a app so I usually have one of them. And last time we were there about a month ago we shared a billy miner pie for dessert and well it turns out I am super lactose intolerant and I had cramps and was uncomfortable all night, what a bummer because that dessert is to die for, have an awesome time!!

Bummer about the photo!! I wanted to see it!!  And you must get a pic of you in this dress!!! I bet its gorgeous!!

Yup sweaty all the time, 365. To this day, 3 years post op and my husband still asks if I need to get ready like 4 hours before we are supposed to leave so I have time to "cool down" ha ha ha its funny now but it was horrible back then.

Enjoy the party, I want to hear all about it later!

Happy Friday peeps!  So glad it is finally Friday!  Today is our pretend Christmas Eve and tomorrow morning we will celebrate with three of our kids.  Throughout the week each of them asked me what we will be doing. I told them we will, "Get up early, sing carols, play games, eat oatmeal and bacon, and wear pjs!"  They each told me the same damn thing, "We never do that!   That is never going to happen."  I swear in my mind this is how every Christmas morning goes.  I think I have romanticized my recollections or they are just Grinches.  LOL They promise me they have NEVER sung or played games.  Ah well... our children never see our experiences the way we see them.  They will sing!   Damn it!!! Oh they will sing for their presents. LOL

QOTD: Celebrating that I will be able to bounce around and have energy.  Holidays have always felt like a marathon of exhaustion.  This year I have plenty of energy, my knees and feet don't hurt, and I am loving shopping!

PHOTOS:

This is my 15 year old on the roof for the first time ever. He insisted he could do the lights all by himself last week while my Guy had a cold.  He is super proud of himself and also terrified in this pic.  I thought I was going to have a heart attack worrying he would fall off but he got it done and did fantastic.

HEre is this year's sad little tree.  Since the kids have all been busy with their own lives and away we didn't do the "family tree decorating" thing we usually do.  So...instead of buying a real tree as is our habit I found this bargain basement pathetic little guy.  He was regularly priced $20 at Dollar General but they had a special and he was all of $10!  He is really sorry looking but it turns out we all kinda love em. The tree is in "time out" by the way to keep the puppy for destroying it.

Menu: Same old same old.  Wheee! B: Greek yogurt; L: Salami and Swiss; D: Unknown. Going to the store tonight.  I am going to look through all of your menus and see if I get inspired. S: Greek yogurt

Merry Christmas everyone.

Good luck getting inspired by my meny--it doesn't even inspire me. I do plan to make a big pot of ham and beans this weekend though, and that actually sounds good to me. I think your little tree is quite cute. I don't have one because my cats from hell climb it.

Hi menu peeps,

WOW!  Such gorgeous trees, homes, and hand-painted ceramics!  The last 10 or so years I have always traveled internationally somewhere over Christmas, so this is my first year home.  My boyfriend's kids will be with us for a week and I can't wait!  They are BEYOND excited about Christmas.  His 6-year old still believes in Santa so we get to threaten her all. the. time.  "Be good!  Santa is watching!".

We had so much fun shopping for a tree and putting it up.  Everyone picked out ornaments that they liked.  Batman, ice cream cones, and matchbox cars...stuff like that!  I have been wrapping gifts each week as they roll in from Amazon (!) so the kids rush in after school on Friday to see how many gifts there are.  I cannot wait to watch them open their presents!

QOTD: My Christmas' were always fun pre-surgery, since I took advantage of the time off to travel the world.  This year will be hanging with my BF and the kids.  They bring me so much happiness I wouldn't trade it for the world.  And we get to create our own family traditions which is nice.  Clearly I am going to force them to work on a jigsaw puzzle as a family.  My mom used to make us and we complained and complained but secretly loved it!

BTW, thanks for all of the nice comments on my 3-year surgiversary post yesterday.  Continuing on with this *****y maintenance phase, I mean, life :)

Time since surgery: 3 years TODAY

B: Aidell's apple chicken sausage

L: A bit of spinach and cheese ravioli with turkey meat sauce

D: Maybe a Chipotle burrito bowl, no rice or beans, since we are taking the kids to a Wizards basketball game tonight!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

PS I was cracking up that Elizabeth's tree is in time out to get the dog to leave it alone.  We keep a broom propped up against the wall next to the tree to "deter" the cat.  I moved it out of the pic, so we seem classy and all...
