WOW !!!! !

3 years seems like such a very long time!

Hold you head up high and pat yourself on the back.

Your post was informative and very helpful!

Making real life style changes is hard work.

I have a friend that had a RNY 2 years ago.

She has maintained the weigh loss BUT she admits to fluctuating around 5 lbs.

She says that she is enjoying life and is more active.

She actually runs marathons now.

She finds that if she chooses to indulge she increases her activity level to compensate. Never ever goes beyond the5 lbs. weight gain.

I have to admit that was was able to maintain my weight for 12 years.  After years of chronic pain, decreased activity, surgical onset of menapause following a total abdominal hysterectomy, sleep apnea & type 2 Diabetes.  The weight slowed crept on and I felt like a runaway train.

I am hoping that when I get there, that I too can maintain the weight loss.

20 days to RNY

Keep up the good work!

Sandra

Thanks for the update Em. You've done a great job.

New people should print this out and laminate it on your fridge. Every word is gold. I couldn't add anything to it.

Keep kicking ass Em.

Grim, you were literally the person that made me think this was possible!  I found OH before surgery, and I saw your signature line...that you had lost over 200 lbs...and I was like, "Oh my god, is that even possible?".  You paved the way for many of us, and I appreciate all of your advice and tips along the way.  Thanks for being a friend!

Lots of others paved the road long before I came along. I just sweep off my sidewalk and yell "Get off my lawn!" every now and then.

This is a beautiful post and I could not agree more with every single point you raised!  You were someone I followed closely since I'm just a few months behind you.  You're "journey" has been amazing to watch!  Also, I value your opinions and the way you have reached out to offer suggestions with some of the weirder issues I've had.  Thank you for your continued support and encouragement and congratulations on a successful three years!
