What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
You know, I've never learned to layer... growing up in Houston, it just meant throwing a hoodie over your t-shirt (and possibly with shorts on!)... Even living in Chicago I never mastered it...
But believe it or not, here in OK, we get the hottest of hot days, and the coldest of COLD days... (this Sat it's predicted to get down to 4F, before any wind chill, and believe you me, there's ALWAYS wind chill in OK)...
Couple that with this surgery, and I'm predicting my butt will be MISERABLE this weekend with all that cold (especially after the 70F day we're supposed to be teased with on Saturday!)

drive by for now since my husband is pushing me out the door! I'll read through these later...
QOTD: well, I originally planned to retire next summer, but my husband lost his job in May (now working a couple of part-time gigs which he loves but which pay peanuts and have no health insurance), so that's been pushed back indefinitely. Boo! Hopefully he'll find a full-time job with benefits so we can go back to plan A or at least just delay it by a year or so. I'm ready to retire whenever.... We'll stay in the same house. My husband is 10 years younger than me, so he has a while yet before he can leave the workforce. As for me, after I retire, I'll probably get a part-time job doing something completely different - something fun. I'm just not ready to fully retire yet. I think it would be fun for a month or two but beyond that, I'll need to find something to keep me busy at least some of the time. I also plan to do a lot of yoga, go to water aerobics every day, audit classes...I can think of a million things!!
18 months out - and I was evidently in a stall because my weight's been dropping regularly again. Yay! I'm in a normal BMI range finally, but I'd like to lose another 10 lbs or so in case I rebound.
B: 1/2 C Chobani whole milk Greek yogurt (!) with fresh raspberries and a 2 T of SF blackberry sauce
S: coffee with half & half, SF protein pumpkin Miralax latte
L: 1 C turkey chili
D: stir-fried pork with veggies (no rice)
probably another Greek yogurt (L&F most likely) later...
Congratulations on the normal BMI!!!!
(and good to hear that even at 18mo you are out of a stall and still losing!)

thanks! Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed I'd make it here! I would have been elated if I'd have made it to 200 lbs!
I weighed 153 this morning - the top of my normal BMI range is 154 (I'm 5'6"). I have a medium frame, though, so I could definitely come down 10 more lbs - and I'd like to anyway so I'll have a bit of a cushion. I'm going to make 160 my drop-dead weight limit. I know this will be a lifetime struggle (to keep it under that), but I'm sure going to try!! I'm so, so happy at this weight!
Congratulations on being in normal BMI range!

Good morning, menu family! I had my two week check up yesterday and all is well there. I am learning new things every day about my new abdominal arrangements. Some of these things are good, and some are not so great! Yesterday, I learned the importance of chewing thoroughly. I got some food stuck, and I ended up with the "foamies" for about six dang hours. Holy shiitake mushrooms, y'all. I don't plan on doing that again anytime soon or ever, really!!!!
QOTD: I don't really plan on retiring. I am hoping that I am healthy enough to wor****il I just drop dead! LOLOL Kidding. I would love to be able to retire tomorrow and just keep my little property and house and family together. DH and I have not really discussed retirement, but I do know that he wants to take a little job at some place like an auto parts store or something to keep him busy. He's one of those "can't sit still" type people.
After yesterday, today's menu is a bit "slidy" if that's even a word!
B: Cracker Barrel Extra Sharp Cheese Square...chewed to nothingness. I have actually gotten that one down and am not having trouble.
S: Protein Shake
L: Oikos Triple Zero Strawberry Yogurt
S: Mozzerella Cheese Stick
D: Going to try Tuna, Lite Mayo, HB Egg, pureed
S: Won't have time for this.
V: Nibbling away
L: Got some water down, iced tea right now, coffee later, then more water
E: Walked two miles this morning, will walk another three or four this evening.
Have a great day, folks!

FORGOT TO SAY- Today is officially my 1 year surgiversiary!!! yay
149 pounds down. Under goal by 6 pounds (maybe less due to the low carb fudgepalooza 2016)
Off all meds except 1 (due to the right side pain which we have not diagnosed yet )
My hormones have stabilized, I'm no longer a weepy mess and 'over emotional".
Thanks to everyone on the site for making this an easier process and keeping my butt in line!!!
