What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?

I have got to get on the computer earlier so I can actually be part of the conversation.

I am two weeks out today.  I've lost 15 lbs since surgery.  Many of my clothes are baggy already. Crazy.  Still really tired.  I went shopping for the first time today and it tired me out completely.  Little by little.  My diet advances to soft foods on Tuesday.  It is so nice to taste more things.  It really is shocking how soon I feel full though.  I just start eating and then I'm full.  Looking forward to refried beans!

QOTD: I am a stay at home mom and I homeschool my kids - 2/3 kids have special needs that would likely not be well served by the public school system and we've moved 3 times in the last 5 years (that should be done though, depends on DH).  DH works for the federal prison system and will have mandatory retirement at 57 -- but that's not for 20 years.  I'm sure he'll get a private sector job after that.  I'll have kids at home for 14+ years.  I'm an RN by education, but I never worked once I got my license.  So, who knows? We won't move out of our area but who knows about the house.  No plans to move now, but that's a long time in the future.

B: 1/2 of a cottage cheese double

S: protein drink

L: 1/2 of a babybell

S: protein drink

D: a little bit of refried beans and cheese

S: protein drink

V: on track

L: lots of water

E: hoping to walk on the treadmill, trying to make a habit even if its only for 5-10 min at a time

As a musician and music teacher, this is my busy season so I haven't posted my menu in a bit but I'm recording everything in MFP and sticking to the plan regardless of how busy I am. Yeah Me! Also, I took your advice and increased my fluid intake to at least 80oz and have at least 80g of protein and the scale has moved! Yeah!!

QOTD: I would love to move to a smaller home and be able to travel with my husband.

Good frozen evening from NC!

I really wanted to make a post this morning but our day was just go-go-go and I'm finally now sitting down and can type this.   It's supposed to get really cold here tonight, so I made sure our outdoor faucets are covered and I'll probably leave the indoor ones trickling tonight.  I've learned that the south doesn't handle the bitter cold like where I'm from

QOTD: My hubby and I talked about this recently - we're both 39 so retirement is a ways off yet!  We were talking about how he'd really like to retire near water so we could have a boat.  We've talked about Florida, and even just staying put in NC and just moving to a smaller home once our son is grown.   I'd like to stay in our current house until he's done with school and since he's just about to turn 5, we have quite awhile to stay put.  My only stipulation on where we end up is that I'm allowed to have chickens, ducks, and goats...that's not too much to ask right?

B: Homemade greek yogurt, protein granola

S: Hardboiled eggs

L: Nature valley protein bar

D: steel cut oatmeal with fairlife milk and blueberries

Being on the go today was hard, there were a couple times where I thought about stopping to get fast food because I was hungry and I was running between errands, but then I remembered I had stuck a protein bar in my purse just in case....so I had that instead and skipped the junk food.

Looking at my food choices, I realize I really need to start adding in more veggies....I'm so bad about including them!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening!

Kelsey

Good morning to all of you. It's evening where I live (Shiga, Japan), and about 2 degrees Celsius. Here's what I ate today!

Breakfast: Plain Yogurt

Lunch: Ratatouille leftover from last night's dinner, 2 apple slices

Dinner: Shabu-shabu**

** Tonight I'll be going to an end-of-the year party with my coworkers. It's a set menu that costs a whopping $60 and you get 2 hours of all-you-can-drink alcohol and soft drinks and a huge buffet of food. It's a huge waste for me, since I can't get nearly my money's worth, but I'll enjoy having fun with everyone. Luckily 'shabu-shabu' is a kind of stew that you cook veggies and meat in then eat them with a soy sauce-vinegar sauce, so there are essentially no carbs and fairly low calories, so if I just drink water I can enjoy the meal a bit :P Much healthier than American holiday food!
