A quote I like:
"I don't know why people say that worrying does no good! The stuff I worry about never happens!"

Hello everyone. Another crazy day in my life. Appointments all day, and the reality of the very few sleeps left before Christmas is setting in big time!
Last night, we went to my son's middle school choir concert. The choir teacher there is really exceptional. My son is in the grade 9 large choir, of about 100 kids. Such a great sound from jr high school students! My mid-80's parents came too, and my mom looked so stylish in her pea coat, scarf, and beret. (mid-eighties sounds like they were wearing leg warmers, right?) I adore my parents. I would like to be even half as lovely, kind, and accomplished when I get to be that age.
QOTD: Here are a few of mine:
(1) I really drink a lot of herb teas and my roasted cocoa Crio Bru (like a coffee substitute). My kids tease me about it.
(2) I say the word "but" a lot. (No, not "butt.")
(3) I get words mixed up. Like, I say one word when I mean another. This happens mostly when my kids are asking me something, but I am thinking of/doing something else. I throw in another related word. Can't think of one of these right now, but I do it several times a week.
(4) Every day, in fear and dread, I google "Trump." HA!
Today's eating plan:
B: Fage Greek yogurt with chia seeds and small amount of natural maple syrup
L: Italian ground beef with tomato sauce and mozzarella.
D: Eating out. Nervous about this one. Husband's VP has his main management/support team out for an annual holiday dinner. Last year, this dinner was a challenge. I usually do well at restaurants--there is always something on plan for me. But this VP likes to be generous and orders for everyone. (I don't get to choose my own.) He orders lots of samplers and stuff, and the eating is a communal kind of thing. This means that there might be very few things that really work for me, and if there is something that works for me, it might be such a small "sample" size that I will be left hungry. So I am a little nervous about tonight. It is a sushi place. I am sure I could find an entree for me on the menu, but I expect the VP will order lots of sushi--which although I like, and could have one of, if it is all su****hen I will either have to eat lots of rice, or pick out the raw fish to eat, or just be hungry. It would be very bad form for me to just order something on my own, if he is ordering for everyone. And, the dinners lasts a couple of hours. Last year, he did ask if anyone had any food allergies. If he asks something like that again, I could speak up, but that draws attention to me, and I don't want to do that. Also, this VP is generous and means well, but he is also a little dangerous--important to stay on his good side. I want to be in best form tonight. I need to impress as well as I can. Clothing, hair, accessories, wit and wisdom and charm--that is what I must serve up!
S: Cashew bites/ home baked parmesan crisps
And, drinking lots of my quirky drinks!
Stop googling Trump... you deserve a much happier life than that

Good morning everyone!
I feel like I've been gone from here FOREVER! Hubby had planned surgery on Monday, and ended up spending the night because surgery was pushed back to the afternoon... so the last couple of days have been a haze to me. He's fine, and I'm back at work!
So, I'll post a picture of the dress I picked out, and I'm standing with the Broker of my real estate firm. You can tell from the picture that he's No Fun at all, huh?! He's such a hoot! He had that suit custom made just for this party!
QOTD: I am quirky about things, but much more likely to go behind someone and fix what I don't like... the dishwasher is one that stands out to me, although, truth be told, I've backed away from the dishwasher a lot since the kids started taking over the dish washing duties. Amazing thing is, MOST of the things come out clean no matter who loads it... I fold my bath towels a certain way, vacuum very diligently (although, that sometimes backfires because of how long it takes, I probably don't do it as much as if it were a quick easy chore)... and of course, if I'm going to vacuum, then I need to dust first... and if you're going to dust (ie, clean, because it's DIRTY dust from living on a dirt road), then you need to hit things with the windex cleaner just after that, before you vacuum... and then I should probably get out the broom first to get the baseboards... you get the point. I'm a perfectionist, which means, I get nothing done completely, rarely... because I'm always trying to do 100%, when, really, just do the 75% more often and it ends up much cleaner! I wear myself out before I finish a simple chore!
B: 1/2 of a breakfast burrito I got from our cafe (asked for no potatoes, sub bacon, so I was expecting eggs in there too, but it was only chorizo and bacon and cheese... um, it really was good, and I'll have the other 1/2 tomorrow!)
L: Up in the air as I am so not organized today...
D: See above
Weight this morning 165.8
I ate a cookie on Monday. OMG... that's the first time I've done that. Grrrr... Boy child made these snickerdoodle cookies while I was at the hospital (he was bored), and when he told me they didn't taste right, when I got home I saw the problem... he used my almond flour instead of all purpose flour. They smelled heavenly, and so I tasted one. Personally, I thought they were delicious, and with the almond flour, they weren't super sweet, and had a great nutty flavor (albeit a bit dry). After that taste, I was putting them in a baggie for him to take to school (that was the deal, you bake cookies, you get them out of the house)... as I put them away, I purposely left the smallest one out, debating eating it... I set myself up for that one!) I lived. But that was my first sweet treat since surgery...(other than truly small bites of a couple of things)
So, It was kind of weird at this party... SO MANY haven't seen me in a couple of months or more, and honestly, all of the compliments and 'awed' comments started to get on my nerves a bit. I felt like I was on display at times, and as much as I adore attention, even this got to be a bit much. I said thank you 100 times, made excuses 50 times, and explained my surgery to another 10 people or more (I have a hard time when people ask too many questions, I have to tell the truth, then fight myself to stay off my soapbox about how wonderful WLS is! LOL). I did have a great time overall though!

You look awesome!
and that suit on the broker. That is truly eye catching! Hilarious!
regarding the dishwasher. You know that "genius" thing that is talked about lately? How if you do 10,000 hours of something then you are a genius at it? Lately, I moan to my children that I just cannot help redistributing their loading of the dishwasher--it is like a puzzle--how to fit in every last item-- and I AM A DISHWASHER LOADING GENIUS!
Like Mozart, whose father woke him up by playing a scale that n the piano (or harpsichord, who knows?), but then stopped shy of finishing the scale, and child Mozart could not STAND that unfinished scale, that unresolved sequence of notes, and so he Had to get out of bed and play the last note.
that is me and the dishwasher. Mozart. Me. Dishwasher.
That is not what I would have chosen as my genius. But there you have it.
