Good morning everyone and great photo Daisydoo2! I made it to work this morning through all the snow and came home for lunch only to worry I may be stuck here now because of snow plows filling in end of my drive way. Oh boy!
B: coffee
L: swiss burger on George Foreman grill
D: not sure but thinking grilled chicken breast
Happy Monday. My weekend was good. I ran the Santa Monica-Venice Christmas run on Saturday. My surgeon was running with his wife and son and he invited me back to his house for a post run get together. It was so nice of him to invite us. He made sure to have WLS friendly choices for me. I highly recommend the jalapeno cheddar salmon burgers from Whole Foods. It was a bit odd sitting with him in his family room eating a salmon burger, but good that he now understands I get "dumping" with straight protein, since it happened there. It was a really nice afternoon and his family and colleagues were very open, warm and friendly. Yesterday was spent on errands and baking cookies for my office.
Here's my plan
B: Deli Roast Beef, string cheese and 5 blueberries
L: Chicken Thigh and beans
D: Barley soup with short rib meat. If it comes out right, it's very stew like, so I don't worry about separating the meat from the "liquid"
S: Skinny vanilla latte (double star day), sliced turkey
Totals:
Cal.: 911; Protein: 108g; Fat: 30g; Carbs: 47g
Edited to add totals cause it was driving me crazy without it
4 week post op a little bit ago. I'm down 34 pounds since surgery and 41 pounds from pre-op diet.
I'm still on the soft mushy food stage. I explained my distaste of the protein powders. She gave me the go-ahead to eat meats/proteins six times a day. I'm still to avoid all things raw, rice, bread and pasta. I didn't know I could have - in their own juices - peaches or pears. I love pears.
Anyway, today's meal plan:
Breakfast: protein drink
Snack: string cheese
Lunch: Tuna Salad -- from Whole Foods 3 ounces has 25 protein and 1.5 carbs
Snack: Protein drink
Dinner: 3 ounces chicken with a mushroom sauce
Vitamins: Flintstone AM/PM; Calcium 500 three times a day
Liquids: Struggling big time
Exercise: Not yet
