I wish this "starvation mode" myth would go away. I can't imagine how many people it's derailed from their weight loss.
That's why we don't see fat people in concentration camps or during famine.

I am currently at 141 lbs.. but my weight can fluctuate up to 5-6 lbs in 24 hours. That is 5%.
you at 207 - it is expected to be up or down by 5-8 lbs. Salt intake, BM, water retention, hormonal changes.. etc etc etc..

i also lose weight in a stair fashion... i had a 3-week stall that really flipped me out. I heard several people say to add calories for a day or two. I did and lost but really no idea whether it was that or the weight just decided to come off by itself. My dietician suggested I stay between 600-800. I do that and really try to stay closer to 600... maybe you could try adding just a few more good calories? We are about the same weight... same loss except you are a bit shorter. I hink I am a little fuether out, week or two.
This really does mess with your head, no? I should put my scale under lock and key...

Hi Norma,
You are doing everything right! You eat low calorie (check!), high protien (Check! but it could be a bit higher, try for 80 gms) and low carb (check!) and drink you liquids (check!, could be a big higher, 64oz is the minimum, so try for 80oz if you can) and you are having regular BM. That is all correct and what we all do! I personally would not change anything, I have seen the Vets say on the boards before you have lots of fat stored on our bodies so its not like we are staving, you body has lots to burn, know what I mean?
This is surgery is hard, the nuances and "figuring every out" is hard. We are all here for you!! You will lose! 37 pounds in 11 weeks is amazing! Hope you are proud of yourself! That is approx. 3.36 lbs a week!! Where ever in our lives pre surgery did we lose almost 3.5 pounds in a week steady for 11 weeks!
As long as you stick to the rules, keep coming here and hang with the crazy gang on the menu board, you are going to lose no problem. I stalled as well and it totally and completely messes with your head. I remember sobbing one night into my pillow saying "I AM that person that WLS didn't work, god I am suck a failure" and well look at me now.
I will stress again, as long as you are following the rules, you will lose your weight and get to goal. Please be kind to your mind, body & soul and appreciate and love how far you have come (band to bypass) and keep up the awesome work.
Let me know any time if you have any questions!

Thank you Daisydoo02! I'm only 2 wks/5 days out and I'm already plateauing. There has been no movement on the scale whatsoever for the last 10 days. To be this new and already having this issue is messing with me badly today. I keep having to remind myself that my body just went through a major trauma and it takes time to heal. I need to be kind to myself, thank you for the reminder!

Tell me EXACTLY what you are eating please. Give me a breakdown.
I want to help but would like to know what you are eating. I fear that you have got information from your Centre or NUT and they are telling you to eat carbs......
I am 2 weeks 5 days and the scale hasn't moved in a while. No carbs to speak of here (under 50 a day easily). My size is going down when I check measurements so not panicked.
I figure one of these days I will get a 'whoosh'.
Just need to be patient and keep getting the protein and liquids in.
