Hi everyone!!

i left work early today for report card conferences. Proud to say I have two honor roll students. :-) of course the honor roll breakfast is next Thursday-- the same day as our eye appointments which have been scheduled for a year. Ugh! It's my younger's first time in honor roll at this school- so I'll shuffle things around.

Qotd: pet peeve: this is related to my profession. My pet peeve is parents who call inquiring on behalf of their grown children's jobs/job application. A dad called me to day and I told him flat out I would not speak to him and he should have his son call me. He was offended-- and couldn't get why, since his son wouldn't call himself. Exactly-- why do we want him to work for us then???

i just awoke from a carb coma nap. We made homemade cheesesteaks the other night and have left over rolls, I ate a roll with butter. Then my son is sick and and I made him cream of wheat, and ate some of that too. Taking it easy for the rest of the night.

That pet peeve! It is totally crazy that a parent would be calling about a grown child's job application!

Even with teens. (And I think teen work and school are a time to coach, and sometimes to model possible responses or questions the teens can say). But almost always from behind the scenes. Even with my teens, the only time I would get involved would be if there was bullying or discrimination of some kind, and even then, I would coach first--have them solve their own problems, or they end up like the adult applicants you are describing, right?

I love that dress!

To go with your pet peeve, years ago I was working as a receptionist for an engineering firm. A girl and her mother came in to apply for a position and was asking me all kinds of questions and telling me how smart her daughter is. Whaaaa?!. Stay in the car woman!!
