What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
OK I've been really bummed the last couple of days because we got a letter in the mail that our primary care physician is leaving her practice. I've been seeing her for over 20 years. She was a social worker before she went to med school, so she has a fantastic "bed side manner" to boot. I loved her! I don't know how I could get so attach to a physician I saw only maybe twice a year, yet here I am... I just set up a physical with a new one. I hope I like her as much as the other one. At least she looks young so with any luck she won't leave any time soon!!
This time of year about the only thing I'm ready for is for the semester to end!! The holidays are an afterthought. I swear I'm almost never ready!!
QOTD: I used to be completely addicted to crossword puzzles and Trivial Pursuit (at one time I played TP every day - and we must own five versions). I still do crossword puzzles occasionally online, but nothing like I used to. My brother and I love to play Boggle when he's in town (we're often up 'til the wee hours of the morning playing it), but that's like twice a year. I really should get back into some of this!! Good for the brain!!
18 months out - and still at 155 - ugh!!!
B: L&F pumpkin yogurt, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: coffee with half & half, iced protein/Miralax mocha latte
L: we have our end-of-semester pizza party today for our student employees. Not sure if I'll take my own lunch or get a couple pieces of pizza and just scrape the topping off and eat that...
D: probably steak and cole slaw made with miso-sesame dressing
maybe an iced chai latte later??

I LOOOOVE Boggle! There is an IPad version that I like (since again, NO ONE WILL PLAY WITH ME!) I can easily let 5 hours pass without looking up. Is there 12 step recovery program for people addicted to word games?

So, I was playing a game called Munchkin with a group of my friends a couple of months ago. I ended up stomping off upstairs and they left early after we got into an argument about the interpretation of the rules. LOL. I texted the next day to apologize, she just laughed because she was arguing and stomping off, too. LMAO.
Good morning Daisy and Menu Fam!
Still a crazy week here at work, so this will be pretty short!

A whopping 26 degrees this morning here in Illinois but Lily and I layered up and did our 3.2 miles anyway. Tomorrow we will probably wait til after noon to walk as the overnight low is supposed to be 17. That's just a bit too brisk for me Even! I'm not much of a game player really but do sometimes play Trivial Pursuit at family get togethers at my in laws. I don't sit still long enough for Monopoly or strategy games like that. I'm not really in the mood for Christmas either,Daisy. I have a few presents bought but still have more to get. Post op 4 years 31/2 months and weight at 117.6 today. Here's the planned eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c chili D 31/2 oz pork chops and 1/2 c sweet potato that we didn't have last night S either a P3 Pak or a mission one chocolate brownie protein bar . Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices !
Good morning my peeps! I just got over being miserable and sneezing my head off from eating too quickly (and a bit too much at once). I am really, really trying to cut my carb intake, so I've decided to up my planned fat/calories, and I got a bit overzealous and ate too much.
I think I figured out my headache thing. I started wearing my old glasses on Monday and didn't have much of a headache then or yesterday, but I forgot them when I ran out of the house this morning and my head (it's in my temples and right behind my eyes) is screaming already. I am going to make an eye appointment asap.
DD2QOTD: I am a gamer! We love games. I love video games, and have a gaming laptop. We also love card games, my hubby and I love to play Euchre and poker. We also love games like Cards Against Humanity, Munchkin, We didn't play test this at all. AND I just got a game that is called Secret Hitler. It's a strategy game set in the 1930's and you have to figure out who are the fascists. It's kinda like a really complex, adult version of clue (that is an ultra simplified description). We haven't played it yet because it takes 5 to 7 people and we just haven't had time to plan a game night. My hubby also loves Battletech, and his favorite "board" game is Axis and Allies. But, we also love Dungeons and Dragons, and my hubby makes a wicked DM. I just bought my littlest kiddo some board games for Christmas, and I look forward to sitting down with him and getting him into gaming as well. He does have one board game that we play. It's called The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel.
