Frustrated!

I'm two weeks out. At my one week apt I was down 18 pounds! I was so happy that the weight fell off that fast! That was a week ago today and I haven't lost anything since. Is this remotely normal? I also started on puree/soft food that day...I've been eating anywhere from 300-600 calories a day. Am I missing something here?
I'm ready to take a hammer to the scale!!!

Hi Ymaliz
We had our surgeries on the same day and had the exact same surgery weight as well. It took me 9 days after surgery to even get back to my surgery weight and I "only" lost 5 lbs in the second week. The logical part of my brain knows that this is all normal but unfortunately it sucks at convincing the emotional part of my brain. My point is that I get where you're coming from but we are so early in the process that we just need to keep doing what we're doing and trust in the process. It might help you to step back from the scale a little bit. I've been weighing myself daily for months but have decided 2 or 3 times a week is enough for now. I feel like it has helped to improve my outlook, maybe that might help you too.
Good luck with everything!

Hi FozzieBear!
I know everyone is different and our bodies are probably still adjusting. It is an emotional rollarcoaster Same surgery date and weight!?! That's awesome!! I think I need to put the scale away and weight only once a week.
Good luck to you as well!
Did you take measurements? I have been in stalls before (not RNY related) often you are losing inches even if the scale is staying the same.

I did!! I am so glad I did, too. I think I'm gonna wait for a more significant loss to before I go there. Good idea!!
The 18 pounds in a week was 90 percen****er. Those things even out over time.
I lost almost 300 pounds, and the most I in a single month was 24 pounds.
By the six month mark, you'll be happy to lose 3 pounds in a week. Follow the plan like your life depends on it. Do that, and you'll get where you want to be.

My surgery was a day after yours. I have been at 242 for the past 5 days. I decided to quit weighing myself. We are on the path. We are doing everything that we are supposed to do. I am going to focus on things that I can control, like making sure that I am getting in all of my fluids, and taking care of myself. The weight will come off.
