Had RNY last Wednesday in Mexico
Hi everyone, I'm so happy to know I'm not alone on this journey . I had surgery in Mexico by Dr.Joya , on November 30th , 2016 . I have been on the wait list for 2 years and just couldn't wait the next 2 . So I did the craziest thing I could ever imagine , I got it done in Mexico ! Haven't been to Mexico in 38 years , and all of a sudden I'm a hospital in Puerto Vallarta. I decided on November 10th and confirmed the surgery date of November 30th. I was there for 4 nights ( 2 in hospital) .
So questions i have for those that have had education and preparation for the surgery are:
is it normal to be bloated after ? Even 6 days after ..
is there a non-virtual meeting group in Victoria ?
Is there any hotline for nutritionists available ?
Thanks so much friends????
I wouldn't have wanted to wait 2 years..... so congratulations making the decision and the surgery.
Walking is the best way to get rid of the bloat... keep walking and drinking fluids.
Best Hotline for Nutrition is this place.... Spend time reading old posts and you can search for specific subjects...
I come on here everyday to keep myself accountable and I am constantly learning. The daily menu thread is a great way to jump in get to know people as well as plan your menu.
If you are using protein shakes 100% whey protein are the best absorbed for us. Syntrax is a tasty brand... besides Chocolate truffle vanilla bean torte and cappuccino the fuzzy navel is great because it is the only one I've found that tastes good in water.
Good Luck!

You'll learn so much more here about your new nutritional needs than ANYWHERE else.. ok, so that's my opinion anyway!
Welcome and congratulations!

I use this forum as my WLS group and Nutritional follow up. They work better than anything else I have encountered including the nutritionist I paid a small fortune for that works with my surgeon. If I listened to her I would be eating bread, oatmeal and a variety of other carbs!!!
