What's on your Menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Good morning. Daisy I love your ideas! We do gifts with my husband's parents, our kids and we draw names with my family - except for the 14 and under - we buy them presents.
We stopped doing presents a long time ago with our best friends, but last year the 4 of us went out for dinner in Niagara Falls and drove around to see the lights- it was great. We haven't really done that since before kids - 18 years ago. This year, there is a musical out called 'Come From Away". The creator of the musical used to work with me, and my best friend and I are both from Newfoundland. This is the pre-Broadway run so we're planning to go see that with them. I'm really looking forward to that.
I actually planned my day out a bit better today-
Protein powder w/coffee and milk for breakfast
Free lunch at work today- portuguese chicken and potatoes and salad
plain greek yogurt and banana
Chicken pot pie for supper
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Good morning Daisy and Menu Fam!
Yesterday was super hectic at work and it will be moving forward till we go to press in less than two weeks. I'm hoping i can get all the work done with minimal stress!
QOTD: there are about 9 kids in my family, and another 10 in my extended family that I have to shop for, so i do a lot of DIY stuff for them usually, and they all get pretty much the same thing. I have a lot of cousins so we do a gift exchange to remedy that situation, and get together to exchange it while we spend time together. and then I give my parents something, my husband something, my sister& her hubby something, and something my nephew and a few huge things for my son. Everyone else gets christmas cards.
Daisy I like your idea of spending time with people. Thats what I do with my girlfriends. We book a date instead. I'd rather spend 3 hours catching up and gossiping than exchanging Victoria's Secret Lotions lol.

Good morning gang. I have been up since 4am. I'm going through a bought of insomnia again for some reason. I go to bed at like 9, so I'm still getting a good amount of sleep, but it surely makes for a long day.
DD2QOTD: I LOVE to give gifts. I am a giver, by nature, and it's almost a bad thing with me. I love to give gifts. I love picking a perfect gift, and I love to hand make gifts, too. I also like giving gifts, but for me, it's really about the giving. I am trying to make everyone in my family/life a gift this Christmas. We buy gifts for all of the kids. Also, I buy gifts for my side of the family, like my brothers and sisters in law and my mom and step dad, but we draw names on my husband's side of the family. This year I drew my sister in law, Megan. When we draw names, we go all out. Usually, we try to put a price limit of about $150 on the person we draw. I know, it's kinda extravagant, but it's so fun. So far I've gotten her some adult coloring books and nice colored pencils, a new mouse pad that says "Go the **** Away", which I'm sure will go over well at her job, lol. I've also gotten her a few small odds and ends. My plan is to buy her some nice work out clothes, or maybe a nice handbag. We're going to the outlet mall in a few weeks and I'm going to hit up some stores and see what I can find for her.
16 months since surgery.

cutting my carbs has been HARD, but I'm doing it, slowly but surely. Have a great day everyone!
Another chilly gloomy day here in Illinois but Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in.Hubby has to get labs drawn today so no oats for breakfast as I'll have a yummy omelet instead at my favorite restaurant. We don't buy many gifts for Christmas usually just one thing each for our two sons and my mother in law and father in law. Found my mother in laws gift while we were traveling--a cute two level Christmas cookie tray. She has tons of Christmas knick knacks and decorations but does not have this one. I'm sure it will be a hit. Oh we also get a gift for our oldest sons long time girlfriend. They won't be home til mid January so I may wait on their gifts til Christmas is over. Food for today B 1/2 of a two egg omelet with ham and cheese L 3 1/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1/2 c beets D 31/2 oz pork chops 1/2 c sweet potato S P3 Pak for something different. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices too!
Good morning, Menu Family. I haven't posted in a few days...mostly because my meals have been consisting of the clear liquid blah. Menu progression today, so (yasssss!) I'm going to have something that I can't see through.
It's colder here this morning, and the wind is howling. I had a small NSV after going to the barn to feed, and I didn't realize it until I was nearly to work. Each year, our managers buy us coats with company logos on them, etc. Two years ago, we ordered heavy coats, and mine would zip, but just barely. This morning, however, it zipped up and I had some room!! I'm down OVER 50 POUNDS now, so there's a scale victory, too!!!
QOTD: We have small children still at home, so we buy a lot of gifts! We usually do a "buy one adult gift" and have a gift swap with my folks and siblings. I do like to search for the perfect gift for everyone, but I usually have it in my mind what I want to get them, so finding gifts isn't hard for me.

E: I, too, am planning on doing some shopping around town during lunch. I also have to help the kids walk the pigs tonight. We're getting ready for a stock show this weekend, so all the piggies got baths last night. They're so pretty and handsome when they've been scrubbed!

Hi, just reading now, but I wanted to chime in because I noticed that you added an extra scoop of protein poweder to your morning shake. It's no biggie but I wanted to make sure you know that anything more than 30g of protein in one sitting is not being absorbed. So if it's more than that, save your cash and add it to things that really don't have enough!
I remember someone in my support group telling us that she had one shake a day with 60g of protein in it, so that she could eat mashed potatoes and cereal for the rest of the day... Ugh, can you imagine?! Not accusing you of doing that! Just wanted to make sure you know how bodies absorb protein and not to bother going overboard in one sitting.
