In the Hospital...
Man, what some people will go through to get their lab work completed : - ) You are a positive-thinker so you probably already have surmised WLS prevented your minor stroke from having been a major stroke. I think positive thinking and prevention meds is why my mother's minor stroke many, many years ago was a small blip in her life and has her living well into her 90's. You are not a failure and you don't need to stop whining. I am a member of the "sh*t happens club," too, but think my bowel obstruction surgery has me more a rule-follower than had it not happened. Well Wishes to you and I look forward to reading many more of your NSV's to come.
I know, right? I thought it was pretty intelligent to get all that lab work done at once. And my PCP said I didn't need any more testing... guess I showed her.
On the down side they brought the dreaded heparin injection in last night. I have had three so far. My favorite thing lately.
I'm sorry to hear this! But as others have said, you are anything but a failure. The lifestyle changes you've made already are going to help with recovery, and ensure a better outcome.
Id see if someone can bring you some wls foods, but don't give yourself a hard time if your carbs are higher. You won't be in hospital long, and your energy should be focused on rehabilitation!
check in often!

So sorry to hear this. Just to reiterate the other posts. You are far from a failure! And the fact that you have had WLS and lost weight probably helped to keep this from being a major life-altering (or even ending) stroke. Take care and I'm sure you'll be back on track soon.

Cheryl, I'm so sorry! i was wondering where you've been. Praying for a quick recovery, and you are not a failure. Like grim said, at least it was minor, and that you've lost a lot of weight to make recovery easier/quicker. You're in my thoughts.
Love,
Mari

Thanks, Mari! Been thinking about you, too... everything good? I was going to post my menu for today... would be a good laugh.
Everything's been going well. Hang in there. If I were near by I'd drop off some premier protien and baby bell cheese!
