Nutritionist has me scared!
My longest stall was at month 8... 1 month and nothing... I actually went up a pound... I weigh once a week (more than that is not good for me) it was hard not to freak out but I just stuck to the plan... made sure I wa****ting protein goals, drinking as much water as I could (I'm a bad water drinker) on that 4th week with no loss I was sure that was it for losing. Randomly I did this HUGE gardening project tore out bushes, like 10 bags of crap type job, totally different muscles groups than I normally used (I just walk/hike mostly), downed a lot of water in the process and the next Tuesday (that's my weigh day) when I weighed I was down 8 lbs and the scale was back to moving each week, did that hard day of labor do the trick or was it just time for the scale to move... who knows... I went on to lose 66 more pounds and holding. Anyway... long story short... just do what you can, make the best choices you can each day but live your life... because the day after I reached that goal weight magic scale number... nothing changed... just more of the same.

P.S. Your nut... is a nut. j/k sort of ;)
I lost weight over a year so it is very doable, as long as you stick to the food plan. Sips of Pepsi isn't going to kill you but it may lead you down a slippery slope.
When I want soda I get the Coke zero. It's the only diet drink I like. I probably have one every few weeks. What I do know for a fizzy fix is I mix Walmart brand drink mixes with a little of their flavored drinks, I think they are called "Clear"? I'm not sure but they are basically carbonated flavored water I guess.
I make a gallon of the drink mix using 2 of the tubes and mix in one 16 oz bottle of the carbonated drink along with the water so I get a light fizzy taste.
I stuck to my eating plan 100% until I reached maintenance. I had no discipline so I forced myself to practice some. Not a bite of anything that wasn't on my plan. I didn't start experimenting until I was actually below my goal weight and then I did it in a very controlled way.
The hardest part is learning how to eat for the long term and I took my time finding my way. I kept things very simple and following a food plan took a lot of decisions and choices away from me that I just could not handle at the time. I never struggled about just having one bite since I had already committed to not deviating from plan. It was never hard for me to walk away from goodies in the break room or grabbing a bite of this or that. I just didn't allow myself the luxury of eating spontaneously. I had done that in the past and I knew where that got me so I was willing to try to do things differently this time.
As long as you plan out your meals and are prepared and have what you need on hand you should be fine.

You are at the point in your honeymoon stage where one pound a week is excellent. You will most likely never lose more than that now. Understand that getting to your goal is going to require another 30 weeks of sticking to your weight loss plan. Some weeks there may be no loss, but you still have to keep your calories down.
The honeymoon stage will last about another year. Don't waste it.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I had my RNY only a month after yours. I've lost 106 lbs and have reached my goal. As others have already stated, your weight loss will slow down. I've reached my goal at 190 lbs, so I'm not looking for much additional loss. I lost almost nothing in October so, I figured I'd pretty much maxed out, I went on a cruise and I even gained three pounds. Then in November, BOOM, I lost another 12 pounds. This was unexpected, especially since I had started eating some things that I had previously avoided, like a slice or two of pizza and some brown rice dishes. I still can't tolerate pasta, but that's a good thing, because pasta is probably the one food most responsible for getting me me so obese to begin with. So my experience indicates that the weight loss will continue for a while as long as you keep sticking to the plan. BTW, I will drink a diet coke every now and then.

I am currently in the preparation portion of my journey.
During our Pre op classes we were told absolutely no carbonated drinks. We were told the the carbonation is hard on the lining of the stomach. It may also allow you to consume more, and larger portions. This may enlarge your stoma (opening between the pouch and your small intestine) as a result. In addition, because of their effervescence, carbonated beverages pull excess air into the newly formed stomach pouch. This can cause stomach upset, nausea, and excess gas. There is a risk of damaging the stomach pouch if extreme nausea occurs especially after the operation.
I used to sit through these (3) hours classes and think what the heck am I doing here. Now, I think that I actually learned a lot there.
Hope this helps
