I am sorry Mari the other job didn't work out, but it wasn't meant to be. I personally will not stay at an organization or with a Boss who is abusive or who I don't respect and if I am going home daily in tears then it's time to leave. I have been there, done that. Four years ago to be exact. I despised my previous Boss, she was a liar, a manipulator, and a user. I left and my current Boss is off the charts amazing. If your previous Boss is contacting you that means he/she likes you & your work, use him/her to network. Don't stay in a job where you are miserable. If financially you & your husband can swing you doing Freelance and it makes you happy I say Go For It!! Being truly unhappy at work affects so much of other parts of your life... can't sleep well, don't eat well, get depressed or angry. This is just my humble opinion, but really want to see you happy!! I wish you the best of luck in your decision!
Good morning DD2 and crew. I am currently in the hospital waiting room while my hubby has surgery on his hand. It's a tiny little hospital, and they don't have a cafeteria. I didn't eat breakfast before leaving the house because we had to drop the little one at my moms and get to the hospital (that is about 5 miles from my new job) by 8:30. Hubby was told no food or drink after midnight, so i didn't cook or eat. So, here I was starving and not wanting to leave to get food because they said it's going to be a really fast surgery. They have a vending machine here that has frozen food in it, and I'm tempted to get something, but the best they have for me is a couple of frozen white castle cheeseburgers for $1.75. If I get too ravenous before he's out of surgery I'll go grab them, but I'm holding off.
Hubby was super nervous because this is his first ever medical procedure that he had to be put out for. It's just "twilight" sedation and he isn't being intubated or anything, but he was still pretty nervous. I know he'll be fine, so I'm not really worried.
DD2QOTD: I have been historically been a tummy sleeper, but when I was pregnant with my little I flipped on to my side. Then when I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, I was forced onto my side again because of my cpap. It seems that now that I've lost weight, I'm still mostly a side sleeper. I don't think I'll ever be a back sleeper, though sometimes in the mornings when I wake up and don't have to jump right out of bed, I usually toss my pillow and lay flat on my back It seems to help me stretch out my back. I've been having issues with my neck for the last few weeks and I'm considering going back to the chiropractor soon. I just don't want to have to deal with the expense. I've been going to be early since starting my new job, just because I don't want to be tempted to snooze too much and then have to rush. Because my commute is so much longer than it used to be, and because my husband has been traveling so much, I can't afford to wake up late. I'm normally in bed by 9 and up at 5 or 5:30, so I'm getting a good 8 hours of sleep.
almost 16 months since surgery
B: coffee with cream and splenda
L: unknown, depends on how long I'm stuck at this hospital
D: Probably chicken, possibly turkey meatballs.
this whole day is up in the air but if my hubby is feeling good enough for me to leave him, I may go grocery shopping this afternoon because I am in desperate need of protein forward food in my house.
Have an awesome day, everyone!
I still sled on my tummy with my cpap; I just turn my head.
praying your husbands surgery goes well

i always sleep in a night shirt. My friend gave me a Lands End one that is so soft and comfy- I have others but that one gets washed almost immediately to wear again!
I sleep on my side but I have to figure that out because I have a lot of problems on that side- shoulder pain and tennis elbow. i've been going for massage and that does help. I'm a snooze person sadly. I really want to get up but 5:00 always seems to come so early. I get 5-6 hours a night but I feel better with 7 so I've also been working on that.
Small breakfast again today. It's going up in price on Monday so that is my motivation to smarten up next week.
Lunch will be small- we have a broker event after work so I'm heading to Barrie for the evening. No idea what's on the menu but it's finger food.
As some of you may know, the centre I am going through is very badly backlogged. They're working with another centre in Guelph (about 30-40 mns further away for me) to get help with that. Someone posted in the Ontario forum that Guelph is booking surgeries for January so I'm hoping that I will possibly get a Jan or Feb date when I go in in January- but I'm also hoping my centre will get me in earlier to see the surgeon. Apparently Guelph doesn't do Optifast anymore. They suggest Carnation Instant breakfast with protein- I know I'm not going to use that- so I will see what other options they suggest. There is still a possibility I will be going through my original centre for the surgery in which case, I'm looking at a late March early April date, and will be using Opti.
Just curious- how common is opti with other centres?
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
We didn't use Opti. But he did use Bariatric Advantage after surgery. I didn't much care for that stuff.
