6 mo. post-op check up
Just got back from my 6 mo. post-op check up and doc is very pleased with my progress. Great NSV - the person who took me back to the room said she didn't think I was for her (because of my size). I'm only 5 lbs. away from just being overweight. Whoo Hoo. Doc went ahead and took obese off of my chart. I still have 30-40 lbs. to go to get to my goal. 30 lbs. would put me at the very top of the "normal" range but I want to get below that to have some wiggle room. I know this is just the beginning of a lifelong journey/lifestyle adjustment, but am very pleased so far. Have a great day - I know I will

I just had my 3-month checkup yesterday... I am a slooow loser but whatever. I have lost two pounds per week since surgery (29 pounds since, 25 pounds previous). I have bad knees, the PA yesterday said I am losing consistent with someone who has an injury, which basically I do.
But: I told the PA that never in my life have I lost weight and not gained it right back, and it kept coming off. I am down 47 inches, down three sizes, and am so excited about the future. MY dietician okayed my low-carb diet, and said she thinks I will be successful long term due to the good habits I am building right now.
YAY!
I think you're doing great! This is a marathon, not a sprint. I've had trouble with my knees as well. Received cortisone shots, etc. Since losing over 100 lbs., they don't bother me nearly as much. I'm walking, hiking and biking again. I hope your knee issues improve as well.
