Good morning and Happy Wednesday. A late post for me, but I'm trying to get back into the habit of posting when I'm in the office. DQOTD: I have not, but I've come close. When I was working in downtown LA, I left my wallet at Starbucks on more than one occasion. Luckily no one took it and the baristas noticed and kept it for me. I have had my bank text/email me about unusually high activity on my card. Sadly, it was me doing an amazing amount of shopping. I like that the bank sends me a text that I have to respond to or they'll kill my card, since the chance of someone getting my CC number AND my phone is pretty slim.
Here's my plan:
B: NY Strip steak (3.5 oz)
L: left over prime rib (3.2 oz) and cauliflower fried rice
D: Hamburger with grilled onions and a slice of cheese
S: Latte with 4 oz fairlife milk, somersaults, trying to avoid eating the piece of mandel bread I impulse bought yesterday at the coffee place I stopped at after court. (I don't eat sugar since it tends to make me sick, but this would be worth it . . . crispy cookie with walnuts and chocolate chips . . . the stats on it aren't bad . . . 80 cals and a crap ton of carbs, but I may have to give in . . . although I have an appt with the dietitian on Friday and I KNOW i'll get weighed on their scale, so maybe not . . .)
Totals (minus cookie): Cal: 873; Protein: 88g; Fat: 41g; Carbs: 28g (hmmmm, beef is filling, but high in calories . . . almost 900 for the day? Maybe that's a "no" on the cookie . . .
This is my second attempt at posting this morning. I had just finished an insightful, witty and incredibly intelligent post (), and when I went to submit it, it disappeared. Grrrrrr. I've been pouting for the last 30 minutes, and am finally over it so am trying again.
Ugh! Credit card hacking. I have been hacked so many times, I barely notice it anymore. I've come to regard it as one more aspect of life in the modern age. Hack. Report. Close Account. New card. Rinse and repeat. I am super protective of my debit cards, though. I have had those hacked in the past, and that is no fun and much more of an impact. I never hand my card to anyone, and I only use it for groceries and in bank machines at the bank (not those random ones in stores and such). I also do not have over draft protection on it that links my savings and checking accounts together. Believe me, I learned that lesson the hard way.
I hope the hack of Arun's card doesn't cause him too much of a hassel, Daisy.
Tonight is the only night this week that I don't have something planned for after work, so I actually get to go home at a decent hour. I have a bunch of meat in the fridge, so this is a good time to get it cooked for the week. I also have a bushel of tomatillos from my garden, so I think I will make a batch of salsa verde in my Instant Pot. Yummers!
The weather here in Portland is chilly, but dry so far (that would be West Coast chilly and not East Coast/Mid West chilly). I expect rain to move in soon, so am considering a quick run over to Starbucks. I have been craving an egg nog latte. I have them make it with non fat milk and 1/2 the egg nog. Delicious and still higher in calories then I would like, but I consider it a rare treat.
Time Since Surgery: 2 years
B: Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette
S: 3 oz deli roast beef
L: Chicken curry with butternut squash
S: Trader Joe's Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage link
D: 4 oz prawns
Totals: Calories 701, Carbs 19, Protein 86
Those totals will change if I make a Starbuck's run, but I have the room in both the calories and the carbs. Have a great day everyone!
