What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
on 11/30/16 4:16 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Good morning Menu Friends! Still cold & raining here, blah! Lately because I have been taking the dogs out twice in the evenings and going to the gym I have been between 20,000-25,000 steps in a day, that is way more than my usual of 12-15k so feeling accomplished! Shall we do open topic for Photo Friday this week? Or does anyone have an idea of a theme?
QOTD: Have you ever been a victim of identity theft or had your credit card or debit card stolen? So yesterday at work I get a text from hubby saying call me right away, urgent! So I call him and he proceeds to tell me that he just got off the phone with MasterCard because they felt there was suspicious activity on his card, well sure enough there was!!!! We have no clue how but someone out there in cyberland got his card and was having fun online shopping! There was $300 at the Apple Store, $450 at American Eagle and a few little $10 purchases as well. Lucky MasterCard put a lock on hubby's credit card right away, told him all those purchases would be denied as they were all just pending and MasterCard is cancelling that card and issuing a new number. So WTH!!! Now oddly since I have been with hubby almost 17 years this is the third time his credit card has been scammed and his debit card has been scammed a few times too. Not sure what the Universe has against my husband but I have never had a problem, and we are lucky he has always got his money back and it has been smooth dealing with the banks & credit card companies. My sister lost her wallet many years ago, like 20 yrs ago, she had to go through all the hassle of getting new ID & credit cards which she said was a nightmare and just a couple of years ago she received the old wallet with the ID cards still in it, minus cash & credit cards but some Good Samaritan left a note saying they found it on a hiking trail several hours away from her town and Googled her and sent it back, it's nice to know there are good people in this world!! So just be aware Friends!!

Morning everyone!
Grey and foggy here! I like the idea of an open photo Friday.
qotd: yup. My husband's visa was compromised once years ago by a skimmer at a gas station. And my Mil was targeted and they got a lot of info like her passwords and iTunes info, which unfortunately, my husband had set up her accounts so we were compromised again. We had to notify the banks, cancel and change all our cards etc. Nightmare.

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Friends!
It's cold, cloudy and very windy here today as it was yesterday, too. Brrr. I don't like Winter! LOL!
QOTD: Yes, a little while back someone hacked into my bank card but the bank caught it right away and cut them off and didn't hold me liable for the charges. They cancelled my card and sent me out a new card. I don't know how the bank could tell it was not me making the purchases, but I'm sure glad they caught it! Yes, it is scary! Many years ago I left my purse on the top of my car and drove off. A very nice older gentleman found it and tracked me down and returned my purse with everything intact in it. There definitely are good people in the world!

Still rainy and cold here as well. bbbrrrrrr
QOTD: I haven't had my card used by anyone else, thankfully. Funny story though, we went to Quebec for our honeymoon and totally did NOT tell our credit card companies, didnt even think to. FIRST gas station we stop at in Canada, Hubby's credit card was denied!! So we tried mine, thankfully it worked because we needed gas and were planning on exchanging American money for Canadian once we got to our Inn. We called them right from the gas station to let them know we would be in Canada for the week, and the cards worked fine after that.

QOTD: Yup Visa has been compromised twice in the past 10-15 years. Both times Visa caught it and contacted me and worked to reverse the charges. The last time (about 5 years ago) it took a while, but Visa finally worked it out. Son (age 36) has had his card compromised a few times as well. Even though I didn't lose anything financially it was such a pain.
