Drinking and eating
For the life of me I can't get in 2 L plus 3 meals. Already I struggle having more than 1/4 cup of food and feel as though there's a lump in my throat but if I drink too much I have the same feeling ...and if I stop dieting longer intervals I don't get it all in.
Any thoughts or tips? Already I'm still doing one shake a day to help me met protein goals.
I'm 3 almost 4 weeks post op.

If you eat less than the amount your doctor 'allows' at this time (1/4C), then you won't over fill your pouch and it'll let you drink sooner. Even then, though, there are times even still, that I couldn't drink for an hour or more after.
Sip, sip, sip... just constantly have that bottle of water next to you, and keep taking sips when your stomach isn't full.
I find that as I read through this board, that enough posts abou****er come up that I can get one of my big glasses down just sipping while I am reminded!

I eat a small meal every three hours or so, less food at once lets me drink earlier. You have to keep liquid by your side always - if it is water, great. If you can drink warm tea faster, great. I have to put a little bit of something in my water (diet cranberry drink with pineapple is my favorite) and I notice that I drink much faster that way. You can try the Syntrax protein powders, which gives you protein AND liquid at the same time. I also drink Fairlife fat free milk, which gives me 13 grams of protein for a cup. Sugar Free Jello counts as a liquid. Just keep at it - 4 weeks out is very early. I am almost three months out and it recently got a lot easier to get my liquids in.
