One week today
on 11/28/16 10:15 am
So my surgery was a week ago today. I am still on a clear liquid diet as I just can't tolerate the things on the full liquid diet. I am adding unflavored protein to my liquids so I am getting in my protein and most of my vitamins. When I left the hospital I was 7 pounds heavier with water weight.
Today, I stepped on the scale and I have lost that seven pounds of water weight plus 15 pounds. I cannot believe I lost 15 pounds. It gave me a little lift considering I am still struggling with buyers remorse.

That's great!!! I was 11/21 also! Left the hospital 5 pounds heavier and I am now down those 5, plus 12 more. Still feel bloated, can't wait for that to settle down! No remorse here but just curious -why do you feel that way?
Hi! Congrats on one week out. Sorry you're in a bit of a funk.
Not to say that what you are working through is the case, but one thing the behaviourist at my clinic brought up repeatedly is the fact that wls post op folks are at a higher risk of depression. That's probably not what's happening with you, but it's important to know it can happen, and that it isn't a reflection of you.
If you feel like you cant shake this, I'd suggest bringing it up with your clinic(maybe you already have, just wanted to put it out there!)
keep posting and reading on here. There are tons of shared experiences.

So far 80 pounds lost!
I get in a funk too, I think its normal because all this is SO different and new. It's a HUGE learning/training deal for us. We need to embrace it. I had trouble getting in my fluids and protein, much better now... my tastebuds have changed and they say that is the honeymoon phase, so I'm embracing it too. I lost 29 lbs my first month, then last month 7... oh well, still going down! I'm eating all the right foods, just such tiny portions... they say that will change too. So hang in there and congrats on all the good that is going on in your life!

hormones are stored in fat so when we burn fat the hormones are dispersed into the blood stream . Could be the reason for the funk.
