Nine months in....can't eat more than a few bites again.
First, I'm not complaining.
I had bypass surgery in March 2016 and quickly lost 120 pounds (on top of the 40 I lost pre-op). Then my weight loss kind of stalled to 1-2 pounds per week. I know the problem was I wasn't eating what I was supposed to. I'd eat my carbs first instead of my protein, my portion sizes were too large, and I'd eat too many snacks. Weight was still coming off so I just kept doing what I wanted.
A few weeks ago I had my first dumping incident in months. Since then I'm finding that I can only eat like I did a month after surgery. Small bites, chew them a lot, really small portions to feel full. It's working great, I'm back to losing 4-5 pounds per week and my energy level has skyrocketed again.
I've got an appointment set up with my doctor just to make sure nothing physical is the problem but through his phone consultation he didn't seem to think so. Anyone else experienced this?
You are still in the first year... so going on a stall and then going back to losing quickly isn't unheard of... Yes there are times where our pouches seem smaller and other times it is like- "Did I have surgery?" LOL... post-dumping may have just set you back on course...in a good way. You did the right thing if you are not sure, and checking with your Doc.
I am going to say now is the time to practice the right habits- as you said the weight came off anyway when you weren't....that won't always be the case...

I experienced something similar around 3 months post-op. My surgeon put me on an antispasmodic and had me revert my diet to do 2 days liquids, 2 days purees, 2 days soft solids, and then back to regular way of eating. It fixed the problem.

I have to say, 1-2 pounds a week is definitely not what I would call a stall... congratulations on such a great loss so far!
