yay for spending the day with your little man!!
Oh your popcorn combos sound amazing! When hubby and I used to go to the movies pre surgery he would buy the buttered popcorn and Glossette raisins or Glossette peanuts and dump them in the buttered popcorn bag, the sweet & salty was so awesome!
Your menu is fantastic! What a great variety! I think my fav Filipino dish is Pancit, mmmmmmmm! LOL
Good morning DD2 and The Menu Gang. I had a nice weekend. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for my family on Saturday, and ate way too much. I ate 2 crescent rolls and a brown and serve roll in like 10 minutes, and I kid you not, I think I almost died. I was in so much pain, oh the problems we have with our brains. I was relatively bad over the weekend and I'm feeling the carb detox today. But now, I'm back to it. The scale is not happy with me, and though I hit my lowest weight ever on Thanksgiving, I've shoved enough food into my gullet over this weekend to be up like 4lbs on the scale. I weighed in this morning at 158.
DD2QOTD: I LOVE popcorn. I have a silicon microwave popcorn popper and I love that thing. It doesn't use oil at all, and I add real butter and salt (which I measure). I eat it almost every evening, and for real, I can eat a lot of popcorn. I love all kinds of popcorn, though I'm not a huge fat of kettle corn, and tend to lean toward more savory popcorn.
15 months 24 days since surgery
B: 1 package of oatfit apple cinnamon oatmeal and coffee with sugar free coffeemate
L: Tuna and microwave mac and cheese (I have to go shopping at some point this week, but hubby is out of town until Wednesday)
D: 2x chicken legs, baked
S: shrimp with ****tail sauce, popcorn with butter and salt
Totals (damn the carbs)
Calories 855 protein 77 carbs 86 fat 23
I'm completely out of fresh veggies and deli meat. I had the option of stuffing and mashed potatoes for lunch, or a small can of tuna and a cup of microwave mac and cheese. I think I'll run to Kroger tonight after I make dinner, so to get some better lunch food for this week. Have a great day everyone!
I tried my first roll at a holiday dinner about a year after surgery. I also thought I'd die. It was just horrible.

OMG crescent rolls are so amazing, slathered in butter!!! Sorry the roll was so painful. We eat with our brains, it tells us we should eat the rolls and then our pouches pay for it damn it!
Where did you get this silicon microwave popper thing? It sounds awesome!
Hope you got to the grocery store and got some good eats!
Happy Cyber Monday, y'all-it's the only Monday that doesn't completely suck...amiright?
QOTD: I learned in my first year out that corn ( damn corn chips ) hates me now, so I have not had popcorn, corn, or most anything else that involves corn, except the little bit of cornstarch I use as a thickener for gravies and sauces, since the Great Corn Chip Debacle of 2014. I don't even want to imagine what would happen if I were to try popcorn... I'm okay with avoiding it. I was never a popcorn fanatic. If I wanted salty/crunchy, potato chips, Cheez-its, Club Crackers, or the Chicken-in-a-biscuit or the bacon flavored crackers ( the name escapes me ) were my poison.
I don't have a menu planned for today yet...I'm sooo seriously still slacking in the food planning/logging department. My weight IS holding steady, so there's that at least. I even still have most of the sugar free pumpkin cheesecake I made...it's getting divied up and frozen today. Back in the day, the full sugar version would have been LONG gone by now. The fact that I've "only" had two small slices of the SF version since Thursday is a huge victory for me. This time last year, I'd have had 4 or more slices by now. I was awful with sugar free home-baked goods last year.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Oh man that sucks on the corn chips and corn story I love corn chips and they just slide on down just like popcorn! I can eat Sunchips no problems or Doritos, unfortunately!!!! Cheez-its are the bomb, never had a Club Cracker but I am sure I would like it and the bacon crackers up here in Canada were called "Bacon Dippers", one of the BEST crackers ever invented, that and Ritz crackers!
I hear you on back in the day there is no way any cake/pie or sweet would last in my house, NEVER, so good on you for only having 2 slices, wicked!! I admire your strength!!
